Scotts Weed & Feed with Dandelion Preventer, 15lb bag, 5000sq ft - Reg $29, Clearance $11 - YMMV

I searched and I did not find this posted - Only the larger size bags from back in August.

I picked up 4 bags of this today, even though Brickseek said that none were available at the store that I found them at. It might be worth walking through the outdoor garden section of your local store.

While this product does have weed preventer, it's also 28-0-3 fertilizer, so even if you dont have any weeds to prevent this time of year, it will green up your lawn.

I got a whole patch of crab grass that is growing bigger, will this get rid of it? If not, what will? TIA
You can prevent it with some of the other products, or kill it in a couple of different ways.

He's probably talking about this. It's on sale at Lowes but didn't see it on clearance anywhere.

Can I buy this and store in my garage for next year or will it get spoiled because of north east winter?
That's what I did last year. It seemed to work fine in the spring and I could see a big reduction in dandelions. I'm in the south but I dont think storing it over the winter would hurt it.

Crabgrass is an annual.

Should die off over the winter, and just make sure to get preemergent down in spring.

Dandelions help the bee population. They're things of beauty, not something you need to spend time and money eradicating.

This is the season to reseed. So you don't want to put this stuff down because your lawn wants to grow new grass. From my experience, you can try to stash it till next year but I do not know if they chemicals break down or not. Also, it smells really bad in your shed or garage.

If you're in a place with winter, crabgrass will just die on it's own. Then you put something down early in spring to prevent it from germinating. There is no killing crabgrass usually after it's germinated.

The reason this product is on clearance is that this is the time of year people are trying to clean up their lawns and replant patchy areas. You can't use this stuff in that scenario. Your healthy grass will withstand it but it will prevent ANYTHING new from germinating.

You're going to mow them anyway, and they will slowly take over your lawn and leave you with a mess. If you have a lot of property that you're allowing vegetation to grow on, then sure, dandelions are fine. If you live in a normal house with a normal lawn that you mow (and that your neighbors and town expect you to mow), you don't want dandelions.

Anything that will kill grassy weeds aka crabGRASS, will kill your lawn grass. I prefer to spray a Liquid weed killer like atrazine in the early spring while the lawn grass is still dormant. Usually the lawn weeds will be active before the lawn grass. I've never liked "weed & feed" products. To me it's sort of like chemotherapy — mixing poison in your food to kill cancer. I much prefer to spot treat in the fall and again in the spring when temps are still mild, with liquid weed killer. I eliminated a whole patch of sand spurs that had developed in the corner of my yard near the drive way. I paid a kid $20 to pull them up with strict instructions to get the roots as much as possible, then every time I take the garbage out, I check the corner for new sand spurs. Anything that's popped up gets pulled out by the roots and dropped in the can. Problem solved.

Yep, just don't store it outside like I did last year. I went to go use it a month or two ago and it was a damp brick wrapped in plastic.
