I didn't think I cared about the prongs folding until just now. Weird how that works lol.
For me it depends. After two holes in a bag, travel chargers are folding only. Home use I don't mind fixed prongs.

I can recommend this one [amazon.com] if you can use the extra power - it's 61 watts, enough for a Switch or some laptops. Also GaN and really small, but larger than OP's and of course more expensive. Otherwise someone else posted an Aukey charger in this thread.

Anker is a Chinese brand out of Shenzhen. All the phone chargers are designed and manufactured out of China. Anker got its start a decade ago selling the same no name shit on low margins out of Amazon marketplace.

The same 'unknown Chinese brand" could be the next Anker in 5 years. USB-PD has 0 certification requirements. Anker's Power IQ is their internal standard pulled out of their ass.

https://www.anker.com/poweriq3

Short answer: officially no, but unofficially yes.

Anker doesn't publish any official claims that PowerIQ 3.0 is Qualcomm QC 3.0 compatible, USB-PD compatible. However PowerIQ 3.0 is claimed to be compatible with PowerIQ 2.0, which has been claimed to support Qualcomm QC 3.0 at reduced rates, fully support USB-PD, which means it support Samsung's AFC standards.

It was already confusing enough with Apple standards, Samsung AFC standards, USB-PD, USB-IF, Qualcomm QC, and various versions of all this. It is actually profoundly annoying that a charger company who doesn't even make phones wants to make up their own charging standard and brand it PowerIQ.

Anker's whole stance is our product works with everything (true), don't worry about the certification (no certification of any kind, saves them cost), and trust us it is high quality (true for the most part).
I didn't say Anker wasn't Chinese. When the next Chinese company proves themselves, and bothers to get a fluent English speaker to proof their ad copy, I'll consider them. Actually, RAVPower is also trustworthy, and while they are an "American" company, they're owned by a Chinese company.

Hell, nearly everything is made in China, and some of it is really good. But Anker has proven themselves to be a manufacturer of quality devices and components. They've branched out into other devices that are also high quality. They have actual customer support. When researchers found issues with their USB-C cables, they recalled all of them, despite no reported problems with customers' cables:
https://www.theregister.com/2016/...s_recalled

So yeah, I stand by what I said. I'll trust Anker all day over the Chinese unknowns selling identical relabeled products with Chinglish all over the Amazon page.

And I'll grant you Anker's PowerIQ "standard" is just marketing. Yeah, they're just advertising "our charger will negotiate with your device and charge as fast as possible". They're just not paying the fees for every standard out there, and I can't blame them. Like you pointed out, there are too many competing standards. As far as I'm concerned, if you have that many standards, there is no standard. (I'd like to say if it's not an open standard, it's not a standard, but history disproves this, unfortunately.)

I know that feeling. I didn't think I cared about plugging stuff in, but with a kid with devices that might have recently damaged a port (not sure, as some cables seem to work), I'm converting nearly everything to magnetic attachment.

Just a note... A 20W version of this is coming soon (presumably to charge iPhones just a tad faster).

This one [amazon.com] is 30w and just a tad larger. I can use it to charge both my laptop and my phone. No more carrying around a bulky laptop adapter. Still no folding prongs Frown

i have an old 2 port 2.4A per port powerIQ anker charger, fosmon 3 port 2.4A car charger, QC3.0 car charger that came with garbage Atomi branded wireless car charger, ravpower 18W PD battery. Tested everything i have with 10w atomi charger. All charge at same rate. From now on i'll stick with whatever newest PD standard is. Don't care for powerIQ or QC bs anymore.

Will it charge a Dell laptop?
You'd have to check your specific laptop and what voltage/current combinations it needs but most likely not and if it did it would be a very slow charge. You probably want something like the 30w or 61w chargers people linked to earlier on this page. 61w should almost guaranteed work as that's the max for USB C without special cables but the 30w I'd definitely check the specs on.

I bought this to replace my Pixel block I left in a hotel (and housekeeping conveniently didn't find), but feel like the rapid charging isn't going as fast as the old block, plus a new cable. Still a good deal, but hoping the charge gets better.

Man, wish it were QC. Need one to go with the charging stand.
Amazon says this has both iPhone Fast Charging and Samsung Fast Charging. Not sure if quick charge means something different though.

I'm old enough to remember when 'Made in Japan' was like 'Made in China' at present...

actually this one (green union) is not unknown, it's a relatively famous brand in China.

Anker is definitely trustworthy, just I also won't have doubts about green union products.

This Aukey is fairly compact, with folding prongs and actual PD3.0 for $8 after clipped coupon.

I assume Anker does a good job with their PIQ but I'd rather just go with the official PD3.
Where is it $8? Showing 12.99-20% coupon=10.40
