BH has the 8TB Elements Drives on sale for $125 after coupon (applied at checkout).

Most of these drives are the WD Ultrastar He10 EMAZ Helium drives and can be easily shucked used in Synology or Qnap NAS. That's what I'm doing with mine.

This shucking video shows EMAZ.

Does WD put EMAZ or EDAZ depending on what they have on inventory or does it always remain same?
Seems like the difference is based on which batch it was produced in at such and such factory.... basically it's luck of the draw if you get helium or not.

I pulled the trigger since I'll be putting them into a NAS that's got it's own big fan, in a well ventilated area, and won't be on 24/7

I thought B&H didn't charge sales tax? Showing up as $136.55 total for $17.07/TB. CA here.
If you pay using their Payboo credit card, you essentially get the tax back as a rebate. So in a way. it is tax free, they are just sidelining the issue so they don't get hosed legally.

These don't hold up very well to falls. I've had 2 fail on me when they were knocked over and fell about 2 feet onto a hardwood floor. Make sure to use an online backup service as well
They don't hold up to baseball bats either. I've killed a few while randomly swinging a Louisville Slugger around when bored. Never saw the failure coming....

Late comment but I just got around to opening this thing up. Mine has a EDAZ drive in it.
