What a VPN does is more than just simple geo blocking. It protects your IP address.

Cheap VPN servers like this either log data during your session or leak DNS to your IP.

If you are streaming off Kodi or firestick....you want a real VPN

If you torrent, you want a real VPN

If you are just geo blocking for netflix....it does not matter what VPN you get so long as it works

I pay 30 a year for a real VPN (half off with promo code). With real kill switch. With real router configuration support...With DNS leak protection in the App. (router has it own protection via OpenVPN when configured)

I tested some of these free or lifetime and let me tell you the front end app scares the hell out of me. No way to make sure if the tunnel fails that my IP is leaked.
I
My service...once the tunnel fails...the internet goes dead...the apps go dead..I can have it terminate any app on my computer. I pay 30 a year for that alone so my IP will NEVER be seen

Cheap VPN have tunnels fail more often. That means more exposure...even if 1 second its exposed..it would be logged by your ISP or someone else looking at what you are doing. It only takes 1 second...not even that.

Get cheap on coffee...that starbucks frap venti you have everyday could pay for a better VPN with just 5 of them...over a year
Man, that must be some sketchy sHiT you're trying to hide.

Can you tell me which one you use and how can I verify if the VPN service is Real and won't expose my IP?

Use Qbittorrent and bind the VPN adapter in the Advance network settings, Works with any VPN even cheap VPNs. This is you best killswitch for torrenting. You can also use your VPN's killswitch but that alone isn't 100% foolproof even among top VPN softwares like you said.

Also, you don't need to connect overseas server to torrent. If US servers supports p2p then use it. I'm in the US and always pick the closest servers for faster download speeds, never had any problem, no ISP letters/warnings.

Attached a screenshot of what I"m talking about for Qbittorrent. Also, was using OpenVPN UDP protocol of FastestVPN (a crappy VPN but does its job of torrenting). I also, have Windscribe that I switch back and forth. Never had any ISP torrent letters. My previous ISP warning letter was from 2017 that prompt me to get a VPN, I got Windscribe Lifetime VPN around then.
Great info. This looks like a simple way to handle basic privacy.

Nope. Not sketchy at all. It called privacy. VPN...the P means privacy.

Virtual PRIVATE Network.

If you get the cheap stuff, it really a VN or Virtual Network. So, I guess a lifetime to a VN is a good deal for under 20 bucks.

It is people like you that go to the 99 cent stores to buy condoms and wonder why you get a knock on the door with a lady holding a baby saying it is yours.

How cheap can you be in life. I pay 30 bucks a year for a REAL VPN.

If I wanted a VPN that leaks my IP address or stores logs...I could save myself some huge bucks.

The purpose of VPN is to have privacy. Privacy is a matter of principle for me. A cheap VPN that lacks privacy is not a VPN. Lifetime or no lifetime.

Torguard. Not the fastest. But I get lifetime 50 percent off. The client app is wonderful. Also provides configuration for routers so you can have VPN router. I know of a trick to create kill switch on VPN router but I let you guess what that trick is.

No logs. Someone did try to hack into a server that Nordvpn and Torguard shared. With Nordvpn they got access to keys. With torguard, the keys are never stored on their servers.

What you read below is what you pay for versus lifetime.

TorGuard operates VPN and proxy servers in over fifty countries, practicing secure PKI management network wide so our CA key is never stored on a VPN server. We operate this way so if a worst-case scenario occurs and a VPN server is seized or even compromised, no one can tamper with or decrypt user traffic, or launch Man-in-the-Middle attacks on other TorGuard servers.

Of all three VPN providers TorGuard was the only one using secure PKI management, meaning our main CA key was not on the affected VPN server.

MY LEAK TEST BELOW USING THE APP which is super cool to configure a ton of protection.

Set DNS servers names to OpenDNS or google. Just dont use your ISP DNS servers...yikes. Never have your router or pc or android use your ISP DNS.

I change the IP address below...no peaking at my VPN server in Switzerland... IP address below I made up. Its invalid anyway.

Whoa. That's a lot of assuming on your part. I'm thrifty, not cheap. Never been to a 99 cent store, never buy condoms since I've been happily married for decades. Anyway, enough derailments, life's too short to be so paranoid. ISPs and hackers can ALWAYS find a way to get through to you, but you can't go around like you worrying about that stuff. I believe that what I do online is pretty boring and not worth a second look to anyone else. I completely stay off social media, I use adguard and stopad, occasionally private browser pro and sometimes vpn unlimited.

hello...its 30 dollar a year for non leaking non logging VPN. Now if it was 300 dollars...then you have a point.

Free or cheap is nice only if works

Now I did see surfshark deal posted for 40 to 50 for 3 years. That a better deal for sure assuming surfshark is good. Most comments say it good and the client app does show kill switch although my client app I pay for has a far more extensive kill switch app.

So that is 17 bucks a year versus my 30...but it is a slower service...

Just make sure you see the client app before buying so you can see what you can and cannot due. My client app is very extensive in terms of choices.

Purchased. Let's see how good it is
Yeah it's decent downloads between 20-40mb on average with speed test and allows torrents. Can choose locations throughout world but can not assign a custom ip. It also has a kill switch if the vpn shuts off preventing exposure of your up. Internet is effectively cut off.

😂 Keep wasting your money. I'll stick to my Keepsolid $8 lifetime that in 2 years has worked flawlessly for my needs. Has very good router, Android, linux, chrome, mac, roku and fire stick apps.

Can anyone recommend a VPN with Arizona based servers? Express VPN dumped seemingly half of their US server locations since last year. This is really limiting NFL game choices.

PIA' s west servers are located in Phoenix.
