I highly recommend Nier: Automata GOTY. Great story and gameplay and it barely goes on sale, even for physical copies.

Edit: also the soundtrack is amazing.
You should get Yakuza 0. 100%. Its the origin story of the main characters and doesn't require you to know much about the rest of the series, if anything at all. Its also the best in the series out of the 4 I've played
What is the difference between goty edition vs normal. Thry have the regular edition on Game Pass. Is the 20 dollars worth it for goty edition?

Really good deal for YS VIII. Graphic is subpar but It's a fun and fast game.

In my opinion, this is the best JRPG so far...ok.. maybe 2nd after Zelda.

Not sure why someone would downvote a valid question.

The answer is no, the GOTY edition, as far as I can tell does not warrant paying $20 more (free on Game Pass).

The DLC is some fight arena's, outfits, and accessories. However the issue is to get these outfits you need to be a high level to complete difficult fight arena's so you can't actually use them until post-game and they don't carry over into a new game either.

It's got some optional DLC and a few extra cosmetic skins, e.g. you can make your little robot assistant dude look like Grimoire Weiss from the original Nier.

Probably not necessary to pay $20 extra if you can get it for free. I don't believe there were any critical Quality-of-Life enhancements that are only in the GOTY Edition

What's the best Yakuza title for someone who has never played the series, if I could only buy and play one of them?

Super excited for Yakuza 6. I want to buy the collection too, but there;'s only so much time in a day.

Also for anyone wondering, I think Nier Automata is one of the best games of this generation. The story is phenomenal.
