Yamaha aventage line are great receivers. I have the 3080. Getting hard to find due to shortages from Covid
Second that. I have 3070 and tried to replace it with Anthem another day and decided to keep the Yamaha. It was awesome with Klipsches, but then I replaced them with Martin Logans ESL and I love the sound even more

This stuff is just so ugly. I couldn't imagine having these giant-ass speakers in my house. This looks 20 years old.

Is package deal around a lot? Does the price vary? I can't buy right now till we get our house in a month or two.

Does it really count as a slick deal if the deal has been on the front page every week for the past 5 years? I think at some point that just becomes the normal price, right? I'm sure these are nice speakers but enough is enough with the Slickdeals love affair with these
that's because the vendor is a sponsor on this site. SD gets a commission with each sale (The OP is an SD editor has confirmed this). So consider this more an advertisement as all of the varying klipsch posts here will get front page treatment by the SD editors to promote them.

Thats the reason why I posted "Another day, another Klipsch/Adorama "deal"" earlier in the thread.

I'm not saying this is a bad deal or that the speakers suck, I'm just saying the same thing (or very close variations of the package) are constantly reposed to the point that it's not really a "deal" anymore. It's just the average price and in my opntion, not a SlickDeal anymore.

They're an acquired taste, but very popular and at least some of that is based on the aesthetic. They're also meant for listening - they need to be set out from walls, angled toward the listener, etc. It's a very different use case than, say, a soundbar, where they're first designed to blend into a TV, second to sound good.

this might be a strange question but can anyone tell me how this would compare to Sonos Arc + Sub + 2 speakers?

I've already got the sonos speakers and was finally gonna grab the sub and new soundbar to finally experience dolby atmos.

Thing is i don't really care about home music which seems to be a pretty big part of the sonos package. I want my system purely for Dolby atmos home theater.

Even with a couple Sonos speakers already a sub + the new arc is $1500 so $500 more than this.

agreed .. maybe for a dedicated theater... but I do not want to display these in the living room where we do most of our watching

It does pop up quite a bit and as you can tell all the idiots that don't like Klipsch/Adorama/iconian try to paint it as a negative 🙄

Your situation is a perfect example on why it's actually a plus!
You are able to pass for now for whatever reason and know it will come back later.

The bigger plus, since 90% of what is available out there you can't just walk in and listen.
You are able to give one of these deals a shot without losing out because Adorama has a decent return policy.

Even those idiots will tell you that you will eventually have to LISTEN to know if you actually like it or not.

You're gonna get many opinions but none will actually tell how they compare to you.

You are on the right track with Sonos designed more for music. Its more for people that prioritize aesthetics and convenience.

Keep in mind that many people think of object based codecs/soundtracks like a light switch but in reality there are different quality levels of it.
Sonos/soundbar "Atmos" falls pretty low on the quality scale.

A quality surround setup will have a bigger footprint and may have less aesthetics, hard to get away from that.

Could you blend the two, yes but it will come at a price.

Ultimately it comes down to you listening to find what works best for you.

Been watching this one for a while; tempted by it as I was thinking about the Costco one, but Costco has a much better return policy if I end up not liking it. For $100 more and comes with a sub; that's a great deal I think. I don't know much about that sub though.

thanks for the reply, Even though theres a lot of reasons i think i'd like to go with klipsch can be intimidating to step into. Things like Receivers Amplifiers etc.

Does a setup like this require a receiver to work?

[QUOTE=BrainDoc;140619275]Is there a set of comparable quality new speakers you recommend (I realize that's subjective)? It would need to be this price or better. I'm starting a home theater setup (that would also be good for music) but don't want to spend more than $1000 on speakers. I live in a rural location so there is not a good market for used I'll do you one better.
Best 5.0 & 5.1 for under $500 that are better than ANYTHING under 1K.
