I got this set. I set up without the bookshelf R-41M. But I do connect to R-52c but there is no sound coming from this center bar.

Is there anything I should do to make it sound? Newbie here.

BTW I am using the TSR-700 from costco.

Double check your wiring and your settings.
Assuming you ran RC(YPAO)

Yes Klipsch is pretty efficient speakers, unless you listen at extremely high levels you should have no problem with that receiver with these.

I would point out this is a 7.1 package, you would paying extra for something you would not be using.
They do make the same model without the object based module this has, which is cheaper.
Thanks. I'm planning to upgrade the receiver when budget permits to get 7.2 but until then I'll live with this one.

I have the Yamaha tsr-700 coming in today from the Costco deal. I am planning on a budget home theatre build in my basement. My basement is a long and has a couple of ceiling beams which I feel will defeat the purpose of the up-firing atmos in this setup. Can anyone tell me if the rest(not using the atmos) of the bundle is still better sounding than the Jamo s809 bundlehttps://www.adorama.com/ja1064325k1.html?sdtid=14386013&emailprice=t&sterm=QXIVw4UkSxyOWmQwUx0Mo3chU... [adorama.com] ? I plan to add front height or ceiling mounted atmos later.

Well no one can tell how they would compare/sound to you.
They will sound pretty different, Klipsch is more bright/in your face so depends on your preference.

Since you mentioned your on a budget and you would be paying quite a bit more money on these for something you can't/won't use.
Why not gamble on the Jamo's and see what you think?
If they sound great to you, great you are done. If not just return them.

Certain people continue to bitch about how often these deals on Klipsch pop up in here, one of the good examples why it's a good thing.
Most likely will pop up again and you can then give it a shot if you want to if the Jamo's don't work out.

Thanks, that does make it a little better for me and my wallet. I don't like returning products but I have read this far too many times when reading up on speakers. Looks like its a common practice to test the speakers and return if you don't like it. I will definitely try out the Jamos for now and see how it goes.

Yes unfortunately the days of walking in and listening prior to purchase are long gone.

That doesn't change the fact that you have to listen to find what sounds good to you, no one can do that for you.

If it makes you feel better, if I remember correctly S&V mag labeled the 809 package best value of the year in 2017 or 2018.
