FYI, link doesn't work.

Edit - the site is down - maybe for late night maintenance. Can't get in on jomashop.com either.

They had it down for maintenance yesterday, maybe it is having some teething problems. I did manage to get there my self just going to the site and searching for the brand. The one pictured looks pretty nice, though its one of the more expensive ones

Apple Watch series 6 or this one?
Depends if you want an automatic Swiss made quality watch (analog), or a smart watch? Both are amazing however, this automatic Swiss watch will literally last a lifetime if cared for, vs. a smart watch that will likely be functionally obsolete after 5ish years.

Depends what you're looking for. Functionally, the Apple Watch is of course much better. Swiss automatic watches (don't bother with Quartz) are really just jewelry that also tell time and date (and other things if complications allow for it). So it really depends what you're looking for. They won't lose much, if any value, however.

For what it's worth, I have a S3 Apple Watch and a few Swiss autos. I wear my Apple Watch during workouts, but otherwise wear my Swiss autos. I love the feeling of that type of mechanism on my wrist.

Seriously. If an automatic with triple date and moonphase were $595, I'd be jumping all over that all day.

Baume lost it's cache in the watch world a long time ago. They're trying to rebrand now and failing miserably.

Novice here. Is a Swiss movement actually better or does it just mean it was made in Switzerland?

And I just purchased a quartz watch from Timex. The second hand is obnoxiously loud. Are there any watches with completely silent second hands?

If you're buying an automatic watch, you probably want a Swiss movement (unless it's a Grand Seiko or an A. Lange or something along those lines). When talking quartz, Swiss Ronda movements might be on a level playing field with a Japanese Miyota movement. All my automatic watches are pretty much silent unless you put your ear to them. I do have a Timex Weekender though, and it's so loud I put it in a pouch and then a drawer so I can sleep at night.
