I have one of these but 480gb that i put into my 2010 mac. I think it had a 5200 rpm disc drive. Results were amazing! Upgraded it a by a century, no other components needed. If you have an old pc or mac and it is more or less still somewhat viable. This is a cheap way to upgrade it and have them running very fast.

The 120-240gb bx500 makes the most sense as a budget ssd in that price range. It beats out all the other "budget" drives out there on the market and it comes with a warranty too. Once you get into the 500-1tb range go with the MX series after that

thanks-the hard drive on my 2010 imac shot craps, so I need a replacement and was wondering if this would suffice. Was looking at Crucial MX500-looking for minimal cost in case its something more serious.

Did you need to order a bracket to fit it in? Link to one?

Got one last year for $28 also from Newegg.
Got a bunch of these for $28 each on Amazon in summer of 2019. This is a great price for a great drive.
