The reviews indicate that this product is compatible with google home.
Which review?? Because even the listing itself has a big fat X saying it's not compatible with Google or Alexa.

sooo, I'll be the 3rd to ask.
Google home?
No, only controlled via the remote it comes with or an unreliable app via bluetooth.

So I have some 'dumb' non-Alexa/google versions of these and also the ones that are meant for specifically TVs (usb input) and I have them all just plugged into smart plugs and they work fine if you plan to use only a single color. That way use whatever ecosystem you have. On all of mine it seems to remember the settings/color it had prior to being 'turned off' (which I was baffled by). Just a workaround for anyone who didn't know but had led strips to try it out (no idea if it works with these)

Will this code work for other lengths like the 50ft?
All you can do is give it a try. I did and got "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." So probably not.

So i ordered these led light. May be i got a faulty unit. The Red & Blue in this RGB not working; on the later half of this strip. Any variation of color needing R & B. They show up as different color on the bottom half of the light strip. Also these are 24v. Most of the other one i have around the house are 12 v ones.

Just about to go and shoot them an email over at Amazon. Will update ...

Any recommendations on an outdoor strips? I'd love to put these strips and then just leave them on instead of taking them out after Christmas. it's a PITA to install the lights and remove each year.

I just installed some of these from the last time this was on the front page. I don't think it was this "brand", but in my mind, these are all the same.

Sticky tape has been good, easily adhering. Brightness is great. Remote needs to be pointed AT the IR receiver for it to work. The fact you can snip off any excess is great. I wish you could shut up the first few lights from the power source so you could have a dark run before the lights begin, but I just use electrical tape to cover up the lights I don't want shining.

My biggest issue, and it isn't the fault of the lights, I wish the lights had a diffuser over them. My lights are mounted under my kitchen counters, and now I see hundreds of individual lights reflecting off my kitchen floor. A little annoying. But again, not the lights fault.
I use white cvpc; rubbing alcohol gets rid of the printed text on the pipes, and the pipes diffuse the glow quite nicely. Note it's CPVC, not the schedule 40 stuff. (I use it for Christmas lightshows outdoors)

I bought these to use outside on my camping trailer. Haven't used them yet besides just testing them in house, but they say they are waterproof. And cheaper than the OP's post. Maybe not as many features but it was good enough for what I wanted. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089CZ5F73

For "dark" part of the run, if you look at a kit like this [amazon.com], I'm pretty sure you can use the extension cable with the connectors to lead to wherever you need to go in various combinations / order.

For diffusing, you can use something like this [amazon.com], there's a lot of DIY solutions out there, too.
