Image quality is great. I have tried a few outdoor cameras and keep going back to this model. App is intuitive, no subscription fees, accurate alerts, and high quality footage.
I have 2 of these and they are great. I have a 128gb SD card in them and runs great. Both of the SD cards are full so they're being fully utilized.
Is the app the same? I have 3 indoor Yi 720p cams and it shows a small clip, begs you to buy the cloud service or you can click here to watch the entire clip. It's very annoying. You know what I mean, want to see more than a 6 second clip click here to unlock your cloud service. You click no thanks and then have to click again to watch a super long clip from your sd card. You have to do this every time and it gets old fast. We should have the option to tell Yi to F off once and then default to the super long sd card clip every time instead of constantly telling them we don't want their over priced garbage service.

    THE APP SUCKS!

Does it have SD card local storage like WyzeCam? Or cloud subscription is the only option?

Cable is exposed like that? Is there a version that has cable going through back so we can use a box or something to hide cable? It's a good price but cable makes it pretty unsafe.

Yeah it sticks out like that and is pretty rigid where it starts so you can't bend it straight back. We haven't minded though, the one above the garage door just dips into the garage and the one above the front door we just inverted and had the cable feed directly into a little hole we made into our attic. At least the cable has some length, about 10 feet.
The cable is sealed and can't be unplugged where it meets the camera. We've run a couple of these outside in the Pacific Northwest rain for years with no issues.

Does anyone have this and the indoor Yi Home camera 2 (or 3) model cameras? I'm curious how the image quality compares?

It being outdoors makes me hope the image quality is better for night recording but I wouldn't be surprised if they simply packaged the same sensor in a different housing.

Just ordered one with a pair of 64gb memory cards on a lightning deal... specs say it will use a 4 to 64 gb micro card from Class 4 and up..... We have a remote location without power or internet and going to see if this will work with a USB adapter for DeWalt batteries and how long it will last per amp. Otherwise, maybe an inverter for 12v to 110v and use the supplied USB conversion plug. Maybe the run time and clarity will be better than the game cameras we have been using.

Repped... seems like a great deal.

Do these run on 12v? I tried to power another camera with 12v and fried it. I think they are in the 3-5v range.

It's powered via USB-A cable and at 5V1A or less. I've tried running mine on power bank and it works as expected.
