There's nothing wrong with interest free payment plans as long as they get paid off before the interest starts accruing and people can afford the monthly payments. People pay monthly for cars. houses and other things.
Well you have a point there, I give you that. Heck it save you money from accruing interest over the course of term. Some folks including you like that and some don't. I sense you are already capable of being disciplined financially. Kudos there.

Some wanted the Xbox All Access plan. Some wants lay way plan to fit their financial situation. To each to it own though

Much better answer, but your previous response/reply was one of the most unintelligent things I have seen in a while, comparing a video game console to mortgage and car payments.
It not that it was unintelligent. It was just lacking sufficient supporting details to make a claim. That's perfectly normal. This is a forum not a debate. I give him credit for trying to make a point here. He wasn't even trolling to begin with

LOL at not understanding that a house is an investment, compared to renting. Good luck stealing electricity from your neighbors.
You just said house is an necessity in the context of whether one can afford or not and bring investment as argument? Having said that you made a car as an example in your first response, do you consider car as an investment? right. I guess in your mind, car can appreciate in value LOL. There are public transportations if you have heard about it.

Buying a house as investment has nothing to do with this topic of whether something is affordable. wow this is shocking

It's EXTREMELY unintelligent. Even the thought of comparing monthly payments for a video game system to a mortgage or car loan is absurd, let alone articulating it. There's absolutely no debate. What "point" was he/she trying to make? That financial literacy is a problem in America? That living beyond your means is a challenge?

I never said a car appreciates in value, please cite where I said that. You seem to have problems reading.

You sure didn't say anything about car appreciates in value (Classic, collectible are an exception but that's irrelevant to the norms)

Your idiocy is astounding, compounded by the fact that you struggle with reading comprehension. YOU'RE the one who absurdly compared buying a house with a mortgage to monthly payments for a video game system. Correct?

People buy a house with a mortgage BECAUSE it's an investment. After you pay it off, it's worth more than what you paid for it. Why is this so hard to understand?

I know plenty of people have told you this in your life, but allow me to reiterate: you're extremely unintelligent. I said a car is a NECESSITY. Which it is. You clearly live in your parents' basement and based on the naïveté of your replies, you also don't have your own car.

Public transportation isn't available everywhere, and can be impractical: you need a car to transport groceries and kids/family members, for example. How do you function being so dense?

If I want to be an a** about it, why does one buy a house with mortgage if he/she doesn't have the money? They have an option of renting. But buying a house with mortgage is their choice. Necessities also have alternatives. If you go above what you have, you can say that you cannot afford it.
The idiocy is astounding.
Buying a house with a mortgage (something I hope you will be able to do one day when your parents kick you out), is because a house is a necessity, people need a place to live, and a house is perhaps the greatest investment people can make. It appreciates in value.

There is absolutely no comparison between buying a house, and buying a video game system.

I came across a bunch of these at Walmart. Seems Nintendo is only making these Switches now.

In case anyone is still interested and unaware, they are shipping with great frequency now, like they seem to be almost as common and gray/black version of the switch.
