2560 x 1440 on 32" is a perfect size for me. It is an equivalent of my old setup 1600x1200 24". (Using native scale)
I tried a 4K at 32", and it was a bit too small for my eye sight level.
It's the same density as 1920x1080 at 24 inch, which people buy in spades.

It probably uses the same panel made by LG since there are only a handful of monitors with IPS panels in this size and resolution. The Acer might use a lower quality panel, but it would probably look the same.

There is also the Lenovo that is occasionally available online from Office Depot for $180.

At $260 I would rather wait for the AOpen (Acer) to drop down to $260 again:

https://www.amazon.com/32HC1QUR-P...07LCFY3PS/

It has a 144Hz refresh rate. It's also VA so higher contrast then IPS, but smaller viewing angles, narrower color gamut, and black trailing when compared to high refresh rate IPS.

The LG is brighter. That Acer is only 250 nits which is pretty low.

Is 2560 x 1440 good for 32" on Windows, or do people generally prefer 4K at that size?

32 inch at this resolution is maybe pushing it. Really depends on what you need it for, placement etc. Definitely don't put this bad boy too close to where you are sitting.
Why? Would 34" 2560 x 1080 be better? Considering it for office work/coding. Not a gamer.

Right now 4K 32inch is around 320. I would get 4K.
