The price is good, especially for a large capacity digital air fryer, but I looked at the reviews and a lot of them are not great. Many people report it failing soon after the return/warranty period and there are also a lot of reports of peeling on the basket. The second one can be minimized with an air fryer liner, but I personally wouldn't take any health risks on an appliance used to cook food.

Anything on ebay that's labeled as open box should be considered heavily used

Bought this for around $60 from wlamart open box. Its ok, huge basket area, tons of little hole vents can be a minor cleaning hassle. I mostly cook for myself and smaller portions, so i use a 1.6qt fryer for daily use. But for larger chicken breasts and multiple burger patties i use the powerxl

Can confirm. Bought one from Sams Club. Died/stopped turning on within a year or so. Liked it when it worked though. We did use it quite often.

DIY: buy another brand without this issue.

Hmmm... tempting, but should I get this or spend 5x to get the Cuisinart toaster + airfryer combo?

There is a value of "space" in the house, so it would be nice to not have another thing that needs to be stored somewhere 99% of the time when not in use.

Got the 7QT for ~3 mos. no issues so far. Use it everyday like a microwave. Think peeling is result from hard scrubbing during cleaning. To avoid too sticky to basket and grate, I added a tiny sprinkle of oil to food. Prewash the basket and grate with soft sponge after each use, also appear to be dishwasher safe.

We have the Cuisinart TA-60 toaster/ air fryer.

They're great when they work, but the selector switch WILL FAIL after about a year if you use it every day.

The switch is a custom made one that costs like 90 bucks shipped from HK.
It's always the same thing.

Happened twice for us, we're on the 3rd one now in 2.5 years.

Luckily there's a 5 year warranty so they just keep sending us replacements.

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty you can bypass the selector switch and wire the timer directly to the thermostat and fan for 100% air fryer functionality all the time, but it's a kludgy hack that defeats the purpose of the multifunction oven.

I ordered as mine is starting to peel. Anybody know if there is an outer basket. The videos on YouTube show no outer basket. I have to assume there is a basket to catch the little oil you use?

This one is really good price, thanks OP. Now coming back to previous post, FWIW, the Cuisinart is 3-in-1 and is fully SS, new and Costco ease of return plus free ext warranty.

  1. For future reference, apparently some oil sprays have additives that can cause peeling on the non stick coating. (If you weren't using that, it's likely either low-quality or old; just in case you were since some people don't.)
  2. Buy an air fryer silicone pot/liner if you don't want to buy a new one or make your own. Amazon has plenty. The pots are, as the name implies, little silicone baskets and the liners are like silicone baking mats, sized for your air fryer.
  3. You can DIY line the basket with some aluminum foil or parchment paper. Aluminum can supposedly pass the blood-brain barrier when consumed and accumulate in your body over time while parchment paper doesn't handle super high temperatures well so buying a silicone one is probably a better option.
I'm not sure if the already peeled sections being heated up will leech chemicals or cause any harm otherwise so use at your own risk.
