computer novice...would it better to wait till black friday for a better deal?
There's always a better deal around the corner. For a computer novice, this is a fine machine. Get it now, and avoid the pandemonium that this winter holiday shopping season is sure to be.

Really nice chassis, screen and style for the money, decent enough specs and upgrade-able ram. I was looking at the MX330 versions a few months ago but am going to sit it out for the Intel 11th gen.

I wish companies would stop undercutting on AMD counterpart laptops of their Intel versions. AMD is showing superior processing and graphics performance. It's about time, they start transitioning over to AMD. Intel has run the marketshare long enough and they're falling way behind.
The vast majority of the laptop market wants Intel machines, AMD is regarded as the budget option. Product managers know that. A few navel gazing yahoo's on the internet isn't going to change that. LMAO

Yeah I just want a decent all around 13.3" ultrabook with 16gb for like $600-$800 that can run minecraft java and light games pretty well. Looks like the i7-1165G7 or i7-1160G7 or even i5-1130G7 should be fairly capable.

In the same boat. Family member "needs" a new laptop and this would fit the bill but for the lack of Touchscreen (that she will never use).
I feel your pain, everytime I hand my laptop to my father-in-law he asks if it's touchscreen and before I can say "no" for the 2848382nd time he proceeds to wipe his greasy fingers all over my screen

People will see and hear your fingers a lot as you type during webcam sessions.

good point..i was thinking of using this as a backup for my desktop for work but if the camera is placed as the bottom and sound is on then this will be annoying.

Seems like a very good deal.. is the 3 year warranty an on site or carry in / depot warranty? Does anyone have any experience on how easy it is easy to deal with MSI regarding any repairs under warranty?

Bought it. Fits my needs perfectly. Just wish USB C charging was supported. I was tempted to wait for the 11th gen intel CPUs. But what if they are very expensive? So just decided to go for this.

Look at this review, people looking at nostrils because of camera location, would have purshcased but now wont, dont want people to see my nostrils in camera meetings Smilie
