For an air fryer bigger is better. I can cook a large steak In both units. But the 6 quart is kinda tight. The 8 quart can hold the steak plus fries or veggies
Exactly! I can start the item that takes the longest to cook, then reduce the temp and add the next item in line. No waiting, emptying and cleaning in between. One round with a quick peek and I can add the next item, adjust the temp and time and move on. I had an analog Insignia as my first purchase and it was a 5 quart. It just was confining and too much cleaning. We are two people and bigger is better IMHO. I like the coating much better. Thicker and seems to take more abuse than the thin coating on the 5 quart Insignia.

Don't smaller items and liquid fall through the holes?

For example, I'm seeing the holes in the basket and wondering if the batter gets through those

Everything turns out better in an air fryer.
Try cooking cinnamon rolls in particular pilsbury Cinnabon Grands. Taste just as good as the ones bought in the mall.
Preheat air fryer, cook them at 300 degrees 10 minutes frost and let cool a bit.Yummy

You can use parchment paper for smaller items, I use it for frozen loose style hash browns.

I have this air fryer now for 3 or 4 months. I can't say I'm unhappy with this unit. I wanted to try the air fryer fade without dishing out a lot of money. I figured that if I didn't end up using it I wouldn't be too disappointed as far as cost sunk and if I did enjoy it then I could just ride this unit out to get a fancier model. It works well and I've had a lot of time to experiment with different foods. It has a metal basket with non stick but I use foil for messy jobs like bacon. Easy enough to clean as the basket and the bottom of the fryer comes apart. Way better alternative to getting all the pans out of the oven for a plate of pizza rolls and I feel confident enough to let my teenage niece use it without fear that she'll burn the house down.

I have this, it can be difficult to tell when it's heating food when you close the drawer, you need to look for the heat symbol in the center of the fan symbol.

You also need to run it either empty of cook some bacon the first few times you run this fryer as some smoky smells are going to come out as it says in the manual they put something on the burners at factory.

All in all I would have rather stuck with an analog version.

Also if you buy this, be ready to tighten the screws and nuts holding the handle to the tray.
