Definitively a lot better than gaming media would have it. My biggest con with this game was a bit of a slow pace for the first half but second half was really great. Another thing I don't like is the controls took a bit of time to get used to (switching weapons and crafting especially).

But overall really happy with the game. It got a lot of different characters, each with their own flaws (including main character) which is something I like. I tend to enjoy a bit more mature approach to stories where each person is a bit more complex than cookie cutter no-flaw person. The world is one of its strong points with different camps carrying different cultures and different ways to survive. This felt quite similar to Walking Dead in that sense. The surprise ending (keep playing after game ends) was really great and I hope they get to complete that story. The horde gameplay is the most fun, I spent hours at the sawmill horde (the biggest horde) since I had nothing prepared but it was so addictive I couldn't help myself. Really underrated game.

This is such an underrated game, unfortunately overlooked because of the issues it had at launch.

Im sure they will release more units by thanksgiving cause the market aka money is better on thanksgiving season and if not then xmas, you know these companies would make a quick buck on these holidays

The problem is that the resellers will likely snatch up most of the units because it's the hottest item this holiday season. Unless you're willing to camp out for hours in the cold then it's not going to be easy just going to the store and buy one. Don't forget that the global pandemic will affect the production and delay of shipments.

This is a good but not great game. Mad Max meets Assassins Creed, Shadow of Mordor, and Far Cry in a bar and 9 months later this pops out but no one knows who are the parents. After about 6 hours of gameplay, it just becomes and exercise in repetitive missions.

Don't get me wrong though, the actual gameplay and 3rd person shooter mechanics are a lot of fun, but nothing really changes. There are some standout missions, but you can run away at just about any time if it gets too tough and come back.

There are some things though that irritated the heck out it for me. Most of the actual story is told through some pretty long cut scenes and even flashbacks that you just have to sit and watch. There are some missions that you do and just a so what why. Ultimately, with a few exceptions, most missions involve killing "x" or a number of "x" to complete with little variation. And it was disappointing as anyone you run into in the wild wants to kill you. Period. If I run onto group of people just minding their own business and they spot me, they all have to die. No exceptions.

I finished the main story, which again I could comment on that also as annoying. I'll just say that the main character has a motivation through the first half of game that leads to the most anti-climatic midpoint and then a new direction in the game and it felt very off to me like the writers didn't know what to do next.

Bottom line, if you are okay chasing mission icons on a map, and like live die (really hard to die) repeat, this is the game for you.
To each their own, i found this to be a great game and a nice change of taste. Definitely try once.

Great game. Much better than last of us with all these useless dialogues and graphics like from 2005.

Best way to play this game is: Survival mode, with headphones, at night.

Great game picked it up at 19 on PSN, much better than Last of US II.
This game is fun but is nowhere near TLOU2. The story wasn't that bad at all in the TLOU2 and as far as technical the TLOU2 is one of the best games ever made. The movement, animation, sound, etc... is excellent.

Not, Story was atrocious in in LOU2, gameplay had too many breaks with way too much dialogue, too much bouncing around. Days gone is open world which makes it fun to explore and make your own path, and ride a motorcycle which is cool. LOU2 was way overated, of course the critics that were bought and paid for gave raving reviews, but if you read most forums players didnt like story at all.

We'll agree to disagree, I loved the TLOU2 and thought the pacing was fine. I know many people had a problem with the story, I didn't. I liked playing as both characters in the game and the game being linear is one of it's strong suits IMO (it fits that game). Also, I'm going to say a lot of people like the game it's the 13th best selling PS4 game of all time and it's been out for like 4 months.
