These are the most painful headphones I own lol I got the special edition True Blood ones and they always hurt my ears after a few minutes.

Excellent quality headphones. Yes, go on and update the ear pads to XL. I've had mine for three years, they've gone through hours of use from deejaying to studio. Their construction and durability is phenomenal. They're a bit heavy on bass, other than that, they sound great and best of all the quality of sound does not fluctuate between Bluetooth/wired.

Do you have a favorite under $100?
I have the same request, but not limited to under $100. I'm hopeful for over-ear, bluetooth, good sound quality, good comfort, good battery, and a microphone. Please.

The true blood version is the smaller model.

At $100 these are a good buy. In fact, I'm going to get a pair because they're Bluetooth.
I've had V-moda for years from original Crossfade to LP2 to M-100. M-100 sound the best and the headphones in the op use M-100 drivers. M-100's have a warm punchy sound with clear mids and highs similar to JBL house sound signature.
For me, as an overall package (size, sound quality and construction) the M-100 are excellent everyday portable headphones and these should be better because they're wireless.
One possible downside of V-moda headphones for some people, especially people with big heads is that they are not a true "over the ear" headphone. I have average size head and ears and they still touch my ears. Even though I don't like on-ear headphones it's ok because I use the M-100's for on-the-go stuff and when mowing the lawn and they're more compact than a true, full size over-the-ear headphone. At home I use HE4xx for music and SHP9500 for gaming. Of course this is just my opinion and everyone's ears are different but I hope this helps anyone who's thinking about getting these headphones.

I think that these headphones would be a significant upgrade the original Crossfades because they use the M-100 drivers. I've the original Crossfades, the LP2s and the M-100's, I still use the M-100s. The M-100's sound significantly better in the lower frequencies (bass). For me he original Crossfades had too much bass, it was a bit muddy, flabby and bled into the mids. The LP2s were a little better and the M-100s sound the best.

These have been 79.99 as recently as Black Friday. With BF and Amazons special sale coming up, I imagine this will dip down again.

Had these and returned because the bass was lacking compared to my AudioTechnica M50s. The M50s hit so low without getting muddy and highs are clear. They are the not a neutral headphone, but much better sounding/ more "fun" than the vmodas to me. Also I got the M50s for $99 a couple of years back on sale. My reco wait for a sale on the M50s.

no aptx.

Ive been on a headphone kick lately, Have bought 4 pair in the last month. They all sound uniquely different and I enjoy them all.

I would like a decent pair of over-the-ear aptx bluetooth wireless. These just wont do.

Any recommendations for Aptx/bluetooth 5?
Avantree Audition Pro. They are BT 4.1 but nice for the price and fixes the lip sync issues. LL is the rarest of the Aptx family.

Seconding this! It's mind boggling that these more expensive models don't come with what should be basic necessity at that price bracket. Hell, you can find true wireless earbuds that have AptX for a fraction of the price.
