This is also $5 in 4K on Vudu. It comes with both the English Dub and original Japanese, though I think you have to watch the Japanese one in HDX. I can't remember. Screw Amazon.

But you can use no rush credits for the Amazon version. I don't have any credits for Vudu.

I had purchased a copy of Ghost In The Shell on iTunes and I'm happy to say it was upgraded to the 4k 25th Anniversary Edition.

Why not just make both audio tracks available? Can anyone who has purchased confirm it's only English audio. Sheesh!
Go to Vudu. It's also $5 right now, in 4K and has both audio tracks.

One of the best stories of all time. Watch all of them multiple times a year. I even enjoyed the Hollywood movie version although they went action instead of how thoughtful the original two anime movies where. Just watched the updated Netflix first season. Great again... Although it is funny how they always gloss WW2 when dealing with future wars in their future timelines. And how backwards parts of the society are with all the new tech they have at their disposal.

Funny thing is I ended up just buying the Bluray. This just reminded me that I wanted it. This whole deal with people buying digital movies is beyond me. No judgement, just against my religion. Yes I would download a car if I could.

It's the cover for the new 25th anniversary release, which this appears to be. As usual Amazon appears to have ported in the reviews from previous editions of GitS, which can lead to some confusion.

For others wondering it is dubbed in English only; Japanese audio not available. For a digital 4k copy looks like Vudu is the way to go (which also includes two new featurettes).

I know. Some guy on Amazon left a review about the cover and had a fit about it. \s = Sarcasm

Is this worth watching for someone who hasn't seen the series?

Definetly. There is also a 2.0 version where they adjust some of the color levels. I would say watch this one first. Then the 2.0. Then watch the second movie Innocence. Then you can choose which series you want to watch if you are hooked. Mind you the second movie Innocence is not an action movie but more of a philosophy movie. I was lucky to watch them in an ordered that let me enjoy even the Hollywood action version that was released last dacade. That one was a pure action film. Knowing the philosophy of the second movie helped me understand & enjoy the characters even when Hollywood stripped them of their unique deep personalities. Although there are now 4-5 iterations of this story. The creater has always manage to be involved enough to always leave enough on the bones for it to be GIS.
