Yeah, just like Netflix or Hulu, content is available for a limited time. They do add new stuff. Selection has definitely improved and they have some good original TV shows too.
So Amazon's been doing this all along and I just didn't notice till now? I haven't tracked specific movies closely but it seemed like some that have been free forever are now PPV. Not complaining, mind you (except in a generic way), they have the right to do whatever they like, just wondering if this is new or not.

The only way I got a credit was by contacting customer support.

I just play movies in a web browser with the video sound muted. Some of those videos I do actually watch.
does it count if you watch on computer?

Per the FAQ: "Once you've enrolled, you can start watching the month's selected Prime Video content on any device, as long as you're logged in with the same user account you used to enroll. "

How does it track the time? I've got 4 browsers open in the background playing 4 different movies right now (I tried 5 but it said 4 was the max simultaneously).

edit: scratch that - eventually the 4th gave me an error too. Can only have 3 open...
did it work?

I just kicked off my second batch of 3 movies - so when these are done it would put me over the 8 hour limit.

It's Right there in the OP. (Original Post) or if you click on the Amazon /Cheez-it link it shows you the 'select' movies.

Does anyone know how to tell if you got the promos, or to tell how many hours of streaming have been accomplished?

So far no luck with this promo either, always get the food credit and not the video credit. CS was awful, and refused to help. Not recommended.

Did not receive anything last month and did the first day
It worked, just have to make sure to watch those specific movies and make sure the play time is long enough.

Also even tho it is very clear that you can stack the credits... You cant. I had to contact support, then they gave me a $5 credit

Sounds like the third month in a row Amazon issues the Cheez-It credit but you have to pull teeth to get the digital credit. Here's how it went for me the last two times:

Me: I'm missing my $5 digital credit from the Cheez-It promo.
Rep: Sorry sir, I am not aware of this promotion.
Me: *sends link*
Rep: I see sir. Did you watch 8 hours of video?
Me: Yes. And I got the email saying that I have received the $5 Cheez-It credit, but not the digital one.
Rep: I apologize sir. The $5 credit you received is for the promotion, however.
Me: No, the terms say there are two credits for watching 8 hours, one of which is for digital content.
Rep: I'm sorry sir, I see that we already issued the credit for you, which is applicable to Cheez-It products.
Me: No, I'm referring to the other digital credit.
Rep: I see sir. Once you add an eligible Cheez-It item to your cart it will take the $5 off.
Me: Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I gotta think it's just deliberate at this point and they don't want to automate the credit issuance so they can deter some people from jumping through the hoops.

This last month was pretty bad, i watched over 10 hours and didn't get any email so I gave up and let movies play muted on low quality, took about 15-20 hours to get for no reason, all on pc. The first month seemed like it worked exactly at 8 hours on pc.

Thank you for the reminder. Wish I had seen this earlier today, I'd already be done.
Got the credits last time and looking forward to another 5 dollars.
