I used it twice for Costco early on in the pandemic. I calculated the difference in price with buying the items through instacart vs my last in store shopping trip. After it was all said and done, between the surcharge on items, service fee, delivery fee, and tip, I was looking at almost a 40% markup buying Costco items using instacart over what I would pay in store. Now I just order nonperishables from Costco.com (when the price plus built in delivery fee is more cost effective than other stores) and get my perishables elsewhere. Still comes out much cheaper than using instacart.
We used instacart a couple of times at Costco at the beginning of the pandemic mess.

Never again.

We were overcharged by an average of $50 each trip.

Lookup instacart reviews first.
It's not worth it since they jack up the prices. I only shop if there are dollars off coupons.

I looked into using instacart a few times. If the item (kickstart energy drink) sold for $1 at the grocery store, instacart was wanting to charge me $2.50 per item.
It is this way for most items that you can use instacart for, so unless you are bed-ridden with no friends and family able to get items for you, there is no deal at all when using instacart

I've noticed it's around an 8% markup

HEADS UP!

Mastercard and Instacart are running a limited-time promotion where cardholders can qualify for two free months of Instacart Express membership upon sign-up now through March 31, 2021. This perk is valued at approximately $20 since Instacart Express costs $9.99 per month. (might be best to wait until winter to join for free two months, if pandemic rules tighten, bad weather, etc)

With Instacart Express, you can benefit from faster delivery, no delivery fees on orders over $35, reduced service fees and more.

You can qualify for this offer if you currently don't have an active Instacart Express membership and haven't claimed this offer previously. In order to get two months free, you must add your Mastercard as the payment method. Any U.S.-issued Mastercard that is accepted on Instacart's platform is eligible, excluding HSA and FSA cards.
After 2 months, membership auto-renews to an annual plan ($99/year). To cancel at no charge, see your account page any time before auto-renewal.

Post says we can cancel anytime before auto renewal. Can I cancel the auto renewal a few days after signing up and still keep the remaining 2 month time or membership stops when I cancel the auto renewal?

I tried it before and like others have said, products are overpriced. Now I'm using Whole Foods delivery exclusively. So much better.
