Thanks for posting this. I have the reference line as my bed layer and the r152 is just a bit too deep for my side surrounds to still have a good walkway. Going to give the rs152 a try to see if I can live with the bipole sound.

Good luck with them and keep us up to date when you get the RS152 and how they sound, I would love to know.

Will do for sure. I can say the R263 sides RC263 center and R152 side and rear surrounds sound phenomenal.

I'm really hoping I like the sound of the RS's just as much so I can get some walking space back in the sides.

I have a pair each of both the R152's and RS152's as side and rear surrounds in my 7.1 setup. The RS152's are perfectly serviceable and were a good speaker for the shape of my room (i.e., I only have a few feet to the wall behind the couch, so a wall-mounted speaker made sense), but I'd recommend a more traditional speaker like the R152's if you have the space for them.

I tried assigning the RS152's amps to zone 2 and listening to music on them as a stereo pair, and eh, might be the lack of Audyssey correction for zone 2 but they sounded somewhat odd to my ears. Like they'd bug me if I was using them as mains up front, but I'm perfectly happy with their performance as rear surrounds - those channels just don't see a ton of use anyways, and when they do, it's generally effects and atmosphere.

I'll also second dumask on the R263's and RC263, I've got those for my front LCR and they are excellent.

Damn! None of the 60 series on sale this time. I'm still waiting to compliment my R263 towers!

Ya, I saw that too. And the RC263 center is STILL out of stock. It's been out of stock for a while now. That speaker is awesome too!

I'm looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers to connect to my turntable and also to my tv with optical. Can anyone recommend a small amplifier that will work for this setup?

We had the RC252 center and R152s as LR in our last home theater setup (sold it as part of the move). They provided awesome sound for the price. I'm holding out for the 60 series for the new home (we have a good 6-7 months before move in).

Kinda tempted to get 2 towers, the R152s for surrounds and the center again. These prices are amazing.

Are these true "studio reference", uncolored sound, speakers?

RS152's hit HARD. I was shocked at their bass. There is a woofer on the back! I set my xover to 100 to keep them from being distracting. Now they are great.

I have the r263 towers, rc263 center, rs152 surrounds, and r162 rears. Matched with an HSU VTF-3 MK5 and its just stupid in my house. I had to wrap the pipes in my basement... Destroys my vintage klipsch system

Personally I would wait for the 163 bookshelves to go on sale for under $180. (The extra 10- $20 is adjusted for Infinity's price sale increase across their lineup)
I would not get the 152's for anything other than rears, or for use on a desk, or a tiny room as fronts.
Personally going from the 162's to the 252 towers, did not impress me much at all, as I already had a
nice sized bic 212 sub, to fill in the lower mids.
But when I went with the 263 towers, that was certainly an improvement over the 162 bookshelves.
Now remember, that this lineup is geared more toward making movies sound amazing.
For music purposes, it does a great job. For music, I enjoyed the JBL 503 bookshelves that hopefully still go on sale for $300. - Also for movies. I have not tried the JBL towers, as I was/am satisfied with the Infinity's for my home theater.
I have been told that the JBL's would have been a better investment for both movies and music alike, but It's not like I'm making any money right now, and there are better cheaper ways to experiment.

I have the 152's as my front L/R and the RC252 center and the RS152 for back surround. Then I added some cheap pioneer atmos enabled speakers that fit nicely and match on top of the 152s. I think it sounds great - I know the 152s do not have the bass of the 162s - but I have a SVS PB1000 subwoofer - so with a solid sub not sure I am missing much with the 162s- but I could be wrong. I have a fairly small living room so that may make a difference too.

Now for the small price difference if the 162s had been available and on sale I probably would have gone with them - but the labor day sale they were all out of stock and not on sale this time either. Then again I think the slightly smaller size of the 152s fit better on the speaker stands I have. I wouldnt mind having the RC263 but again has been out of stock for quite a while and that thing is huge so have to make sure you have space for it.
