Use Chase Credit Card 5% Cash Back Offer on up to $1,500 in combined purchases when using PayPayl from 10/1/2020 – 12/31/2020.

If ordering "Renewal / Existing SIM," use an address from a tax free state to skip taxes on eBay

Clarifying Details from Red Pocket customer support rep CS Karl on 12-Oct.
  • Hotspot Tethering on CDMA: "We do apologize please be advise that we only support hotspot /tethering on our CDMA network for IOS devices." (implying android does not support tethering on the CDMA)
  • Upgrading your old plan to this one: "You need to upgrade it on the expiration date of the each of the plan, because if you will upgrade it today it will apply right away and remaining days for the current plans will be gone or forfeited"
  • How long do we have to activate this plan/SIM? "Please be advise that activations for the annual plan has a Expiration date of 90 days" (implying that if your renewal date is more than 90 days away from your purchase date, you may want to wait for the next sale)
  • Does our old 5GB plan have 7GB now or still 5GB? "Although the 5gb plan I purchased Black Friday 2019 now shows as a 7gb plan on the "My Lines" summary page, the actual remaining capacity is only 5gb per month when they calculate it." Karl indicated " it will become 7GB on the renewal date" --ChronoTriggered: "My 5GB now shows I have 7GB per month with 6GB remaining, so I believe it was upgraded."
  • Is this truly Unlimited Data? "Unlimited" data does not imply unlimited high speed LTE data. After burning through your 7GB of limited high speed data the plan speeds slow.

I wonder if it runs on Verizon in my area... Doesn't Red Pocket use various providers?

If I have AT&T with them now, can I order the Verizon sim from this deal for the switch and continue my plan with same phone#?

If you care about sending messages with your phone service, avoid Red Pocket at all cost. It is well-documented in previous posts and in our experience that RP will shut down your text messaging without warning because they claim it is being overused. They refer you to their terms of service, which they claim gives them the right to do so at any time they want for any reason they want. They won't tell you how many is too many, but from anecdotal evidence, it is somewhere in the range of more than 8 messages in a minute, which is easy to do in group messaging. Their unlimited messaging is not unlimited! Avoid RP at all cost if you care at all about messaging.
Yeah, probably not for heavy texters, but same as most MVNO's.

I wish their service just worked.

Had to port out my son's account on the annual deal like this with ~9-10 months unused out of 12 because they couldn't make it work after his phone upgraded (these things user has no control over). Spent 5-10 hours total with their customer service. Decided that was enough to draw the line.

New to red pocket. I have Google pixel 3a xl and on mint currently.

Should I get the Verizon or att one? They both have similar coverage where I live. Also it is the same quality as the vz/att monthly pay plans?
I have Pixel 3a on CDMAV/Verizon and it works perfect. VoLTE works. Highly recommend. FYI, no wifi calling on CDMAV. There are many reports of VoLTE not working on 3a with GSMA/AT&T.

Red Pocket Mobile offers similar terms and restrictions on reasonable usage as all phone service providers. If you send us a DM we are happy to research your specific account to determine the reason for the flag.

You choose your provider when you select your sim card. I chose the CDMA (Verizon) option, so my cell service runs on Verizon's network.

T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint's coverage are spotty in my area, especially in my home. What's the point of a cell phone if I can't even use it to call 911 in an emergency? So, my only option was to go with Verizon.
You don't need a service plan to call 911. Your phone will use any available network to complete the call for free.

Yes, you can port in your existing number from any major wireless carrier in the USA.
