27" Dell S2721QS 4K UHD 5ms 60Hz IPS Monitor EXPIRED

Not everyone who buys this is gonna game. Someone who's content creator or coding would probably really like this

10 bit?

I bought the Dell U2711 years ago for work...comparing specs, I almost wonder if this is the equivalent for half the price (well, this one has 4K res). If so, damn, this is like half the price and has me tempted but my monitors are still going strong. I do a ton of excel.

I haven't been keeping up with LCD technology and wanting to upgrade my monitor (dell 3008dfw). I don't game and only do video/graphic editing. Budget is 300. Can anyone give some suggestionz?

Have it for a week now. Agree with the dark edge comments when testing white background. I still haven't been able to get 60Hz on 4K after all the setting tweaks with the provided HDMI cable and my high speed HDMI cable too. It's max at 30 Hz on 4K using my 2019 MacBook Pro as well as a recent 10th gen Windows 10 Dell laptop. Tried all the settings on all forums but can't get past 4K 30Hz both on MacBook Pro and Dell

27" seems too small for 4K res. Can you even read anything? 32" would seem to be more optimal.

The spec says it supports Dell Monitor Manager. If that's the case, you should be able to bind hot keys (say Ctrl +I) to toggle between two inputs.

how do you test the monitor to perform at 60 hz at 4k res?

oh, so you are using the settings and checking if the 60 hz shows up on the drop down when you set the res to 4k?

I thought there is a program or something that runs to test it..

Do you have a DisplayPort cable? I wasn't able to get it working with an HDMI cable but was able to get 60hz using DP via a usb c hub

i m still undecided to get 27 or 32 for 4k. how do you like it for 27 @ 4k? is the txt too small? some users here says to get 32 for better viewing experience.

also what usb-c hub did you buy?

Picked up two of these directly from Dell last week. They are excellent monitors that I use mostly for work, video editing, and light gaming. You will get the best result by running these over display port. Even one of these over hdmi looked inferior over what display port was able to reproduce. Considering the quality and the specs the price is well worth it imho.

FYI for whatever reason Dell ships these in their own box with little to no protection. Initially, the screen on one of the units was completely smashed. I didn't see any damage to the box however and was unable to tell how the damage had occurred.

The second unit had what appeared to be light scratch when looking at the plane under direct light. Dell customer service was excellent. Upon contacting them, I was asked to provide pictures of the two panels. They agreed to replace the damaged unit and insisted that the second one be replaced just in case. They sent replacements overnight, I was more than impressed. The replacement units had no issues.

All things considered, these are solid monitors. Yes, they are not top of the range gaming monitors, but they don't try to fit that role anyway. If you are looking for a monitor that is a solid performer, with 10 bit color depth and solid display capabilities then get this. The QS comes with a full range pan, tilt, and rotate stand, as well as integrated speakers.

Note, these come with an hdmi cable. If you have display port, do yourself a favor and pick up a DP cable if you do not already have one.
