It's usually 450 off.. 2 year contract..but this deal is better if you meet the requirements
So if I have a 6s and two 7+ I get $350 credit but Loyalty is
$450 off
NO TRADE IN = NO MONTHY CREDITS
only 2 yrs vs 2.5yrs

So I guess I wait?

FYI the Pro Max and Mini haven't approved by the FCC yet so that's probably why it's not officially in the trade in offer yet.

From the ATT site in the fine print:

"iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max have not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. These devices are not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained."

I agree, some people aren't taking everything into account. I have an account with 7 users on ATT and we pay $45 a month per line with unlimited data and it includes tethering and HBO now. So we BARELY pay more than a prepaid line, BUT when you're on AT&T and not a prepaid service that just uses AT&T towers you get priority tower service and well as discounts on phones like the one we're seeing here. Because of that, The most I've ever paid for a new iphone is about $200. I've been with AT&T since around 2006 and I've never had any issue that can't be solved with a short phone call.
Makes me consider switching to postpaid, but I'd have to get the other 3 users on our multiline account to be onboard. Does postpaid come with additional fees on top of taxes?

Is there any unlimited starter family plan recruiting member? I chatted with a ATT staff. She said $30/line unlimited starter family plan is eligible to the deal.

couple questions:
offer says you have to "Add a new line of service or upgrade an existing line."

does "or upgrade an existing line" mean ... upgrade the phone/device or upgrade the plan?

anybody checked out for more than one phone yet? I need to do this for 4 phones
talked to an ATT rep. Here's what they told me:

you do not need to upgrade your plan if you're already on an unlimited plan.
you can upgrade/trade-in more than one phone
you can chose 24, 30 or 36 month installment/credit plans
you cannot pay off the phones and still get the credits

Yup. If that's a requirement then this deal isn't for you. Also, if you don't want an iPhone then this deal isn't for you. If you don't want AT&T then this deal isn't for you. If you only buy used phones then this deal isn't for you. If you choose not to have a cell phone then this deal isn't for you. If you're dead then this deal isn't for you.

I'm happy taking a 0% interest loan and using their money to buy my phone. To get the most out of this deal you have to have an iPhone 8 or newer, want an iPhone 12, stay with AT&T for at least 30 months, and don't mind paying monthly installments of $6.xx per month for 30 months.
And you can not unlock even if staying with Att correct?

This is what I've always done too. However, if you are already on a multi-line account with 4+ accounts, the postpaid plans are only slightly higher than prepaid. Makes me wonder if this is still true.

For example, 4 prepaid accounts ends up being $30/mo per user after discounts with 8GB data (enough for me). The postpaid Unlimited Starter plan ends up being $35/mo per user. An extra $5 x 30 months = $150 is still a winner if I'm credited back $800.

Another consideration is you can often get prepaid cards at a discount (average 5-10%) and don't need to pay taxes & fees. I presume there's no avoiding that in postpaid plans.
That is what I was thinking.

$800 is for each line too.

But with prepaid it is good since you can use your unlocked phone overseas too assuming you have one but the 30 months it is locked until 30 months for it to be truly $800 off?

So I can ask for a 24 month plan and only be locked in for 24 months? I buy iPhones at every other generation, so the 12 would stay with me until the 14. Seems if I can just swap my X now for 12, I can retain my Unlimited Elite plan....correct?

$450 off and sell my iPhone X for $400 and only be on a 2 year contract might be better for me
You be $50 ahead: $850 vs $800 credit

2 yrs vs 2.5

But:
Cant unlock vs 30 months installment of possibly getting it unlocked.

Also would you need the new unlimited plans if you choose Lotalty?

Edit
Actually trade in is even less: $800cr -$400 iphone x = $400 cr

So Loyalty = $450 dis + $400 iphone x sold = $850

I am confused by the "max bill credit" details. https://tradein.att.com/offer-details I have a 2nd Gen SE so I am eligible but that does not mean I will get the "max" of this tier does it? It would appear that I would get greater than $350 (next tier down) but not necessarily the max at $800.

Wonder what Verizon will do for Black Friday... Don't see iphone 6 as being eligible in this offer, hopefully Verizon doesn't do the same.

Does anyone know how the deal applies to business customers? I just called ATT and they told me that it applies but ONLY if you buy it directly from the ATT site and not the Apple site. Seems fishy. Anyone hear differently?

Are you sure about that? I asked and they said you can pay it off after 3 months and get it unlocked
