Too much varying information. If I could do this deal for 24 months then I would do it.

Technically anyone on att can get the iPhone se 2020 which says qualifies for the $800 for $200 at Walmart with upgrade( no bill credits) just straight up $200 on a next plan which you can pay off as soon as it hits and upgrade again. For those that are trying to find phones to trade in.

The 30 month is a kind of evil genius. They want people to pay it off, forgo remaining credit thus kicking off a piece of that 800 credit. Grr

Trying to decide if I should make a change here or not. What do you think?

I've been with Verizon 25 years, FWIW. I'm in my 50s, so Verizon offered me a 55+ loyalty plan that seems pretty good so far and pried me away from my grandfathered unlimited plan. Unlimited talk and text, unlimited data and I'm paying about $58/mo with autopay. Doesn't support 5G, but not sure if I actually need that sort of speed.

I have an iPhone 8+ cosmetically in mint condition with 256gb memory. It's a decent phone, but has gotten a bit glitchy, periodically freezing for brief periods. There was a recall on iPhone 8 for the exact same behavior, but Apple insists it doesn't apply to the 8+. I don't think I believe them. I'm not sure if the phone has an issue or it's because I have a huge amount of music, photos and such and that might be slowing it down. Plenty of unused memory let though and battery at 75%.

Interested in an iPhone 12, but so far, looks like Verizon isn't offering much. Plus, if I did take them up on their so far mediocre offers, I'd have to spend about $20-$30/mo more, just for the qualifying plan.

So here are my options:

A. Keep what I have and deal with it. Maybe they'll offer something better later.

B. Move up to one of Verizon's (so far) mediocre offers.

C. Switch to a new carrier and get a better deal on a 12. So far, AT&T looks to have the best offers on a trade-up with an 8+. I hate to switch carriers, but sometimes it can be a good option.

Any thoughts?
Have you talked to their loyalty department? You literally call, say discontinuation, say what at$t it offering and see their counter

Great deal! Will this work on two iPhone trade ins on the same account or will it be just one phone/account?
Read all the fine print before. There is more required than just a trade in.

my Iphone 11 has a lil crack on the corner of the screen. Replacement would cost me 199 at apple store. Do you guys think they will take this iphone 11 as Trade in for new 12?
I'm sure your cracked screen iPhone 11 is worth more than $95. You can try this in ATT trade in website to confirm. If it shows up more than $95, then you should be good. I'm in the same boat, I have an iPhoneX with a little crack on one corner, and ATT trade in website shows as $100 value for it (non-cracked screen one is valued at $200), However, Apple deal was mentioning specifically no cracked screen, but ATT deal says your trad-in should be valued for at least $95. I'll find out this weekend. Hope this helps!

If there isn't any monetary difference (looks like there isn't), then I'd do it with ATT so that you don't have deal with two companies in case there is an issue with the promotion/process etc. Likely, Apple will refer ATT and ATT will refer Apple if there is an issue...

Where? I have an Xs 64gb and it's only going for $400-$500 on Reddit. I get $800 here for it.
Using apple.com link the trade in value for your iPhone XS is $300....not sure where you got $800 on apple.com for it.

Random question... I took advantage of the loyalty discount last year for the iPhone 11 Pro Max where they gave you $400 discount (or $450) if you signed a 2-year agreement.

Does anyone know what are my chances of getting an upgrade into this new iPhone 12 considered my iPhone 11 Pro Max is still locked until October 2021? For last year's promotion, they still allowed people whose contracts have not matured to take advantage of the offer.
Some people reported they successfully did it but later saw a ETF on the next bill for the balance period , some agent outright deny it also . Better don't take chance and 11 pro max is a great phone done risk that for 12 pro max as at&t always tricks with bills .

I'm currently on their Unlimited Plus plan. To be eligible, I know I would need to be on one of their new unlimited plans (elite, extra, etc.). I assume I would need to switch to this newer plan before doing the trade-in?

I am also on Unlimited plus plan. Where does it say that this plan is not eligible?
This is critical to clarify. Do you qualify if you are on ANY Unlimited Plan or not?

Also, just to confirm, is the $800 trade in credit for any iPhone newer than iPhone 8? For example if I turn in my iPhone X, do I automatically get the $800?

Older unlimited plans DO qualify for the promotion but most older unlimited DO NOT include 5G coverage. So if 5G is important to you and your current plan doesn't include it, you will have to change your plan. This is the boat I am in and will most likely update my plan to the newer 5G plan.

And yes, iPhone X qualifies.

Interesting... I wonder what the ETF right now... I believe that goes "down" after a year of service
