Pm sent
Let us know if passing the code to someone else actually works. These are usually targeted to be used only by the specific Plex account user.

If plex wants paying customers then this offer should be for everyone. I suggest everyone boycott this type of behavior from the company.

Had two accounts since 2014/2015 and haven't used them in awhile, but no emails. I think I'm unsubscribed from their emails, so I guess no coupon codes for me. Frown

I'd actually be in for this due to their new mobile app.

The main benefits are DVR for live TV and hardware-accelerated streaming. There are also some nice controls if you have children or friends you share your library with (bandwidth limiting, restricting content to children, etc.)
I definitely wouldn't spend money on a Plex pass for the live TV/DVR features. Their DVR and time shifting features are a buggy, broken mess. I use live TV a good bit so I finally had to give up on Plex a few months ago and switched to Emby, which actually works and is much more stable.

I don't use ChannelsDVR so I can't compare but Plex has become much better in the past year or so with their DVR. There's still lots of room for improvement, don't get me wrong. But it's much improved.
Channels DVR costs a bit, but it's is far superior to Plex for live TV.

Interesting. Downside is I'd lose 3 tuners which work with Plex

That's simply false. The DVR works fine. Live tv with time shifting isn't good though

It's the live TV I've had the most problems with, but the DVR has it's fair share of bugs as well. The main one I had an issue with is it not auto-deleting after X number of episodes have been recorded like it's supposed to. A simple Google search will also show you there's no shortage of additional DVR bugs.

Where are you seeing that at? According to their support you can use multiple tuners, and even mix and match tuner devices if you want.

It makes it sound like it only works with silicondust tuners. I have a duo and 3 USB hauppauge tuners.
