The XBR75X900H has been a hot deal for $1498.

I submitted an offer for the XBR85X900H and they countered with $2399

GreenToe offers include tax and shipping. They partner with authorized retailers so you have a valid manufacturer warranty.

+ $901 for 10 more inches?

85" TV has 28.44% more area than a 75"

Really? So the difference between a medium and a large pizza is only 2 inches 🤦 ♂️

I would suggest waiting until the 85 drops more which will likely be soon, Sony probably has planned for it to drop around Black Friday seeing as how they've dropped the 65 in September and just recently the 75, both are within $500 of each other whereas the 85 price difference is much more, doesn't make sense for them to keep it that price for long

I would not bet on that with the 85" size
There is not nearly as many of them as the 65" and 75"

That is one of the reasons why the 85" is significantly more than the difference in the 75" and 65"

Its a supply and demand type of deal and Sony's costs of the 85" have to be much higher for a far less produced unit

The 85 has been this price on Greentoe for a while now. I currently have an offer from them for $2399, but I would rather get it from Costco for the 5 year warranty (1 year with Greentoe) and the ease of working with a local B&M store if I have issues. Costco had the 85 for $2500 not too long ago, so I suspect it will go at least that low by Black Friday if not earlier. They may even go lower, but I would bite at $2500 for the reasons I already mentioned even though it would cost more.

If you are not worried about the warranty then it's a decent price for this model.

...and there are far less competitive models (that are worth buying) in the 85 size.

HDMI 2.1 firmware update coming this Winter. Which means it could arrive anywhere between December and March.

EDIT: It's out now. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI2QIOhMa50

They actually released it yesterday based on AVForums and it's rolling out (possibly in phases).

I had Greentoe come back to me at 2349 over a month ago. I opted to wait for the price to drop more later in the year

Really hoping to find the 85" X950H drop down in price whether it be on Greentoe and/or Costco.

Anyone happen to have any idea what the most recent sale price was for that unit at either of those stores?

It's a little disappointing they haven't released the firmware update for the ATSC 3.0 tuner. I'd love to get my local channels in 4K, well at least the 4 channels in my area that support it. Live NFL in 4K would be sweet.
