Offline mode has come a long way. You can cache maps for about a year now and you can update when on WiFi anyway. You won't get live traffic updates though but that's still better than in car navigation on most older cars.
Of course....

Download offline maps with WiFi, turn on GPS and off you go.

I have done this for many years with old tablets, etc.

Not bad, might pick it up for a dedicated GPS and no data. My old ZTE used only as a GPS is painfully slow now.

Confused. For $21.50+tax I can get a Moto E6 that should work fine as a small WiFi tablet, and a 16GB Sim Card which without a plan is worth what?

But if I want a plan I can spend some $70 more and get the phone and a $30 plan bundle. Does that make sense?

In 4 1. $20 wifi remote for various things. Dedicated smart devices remote, dedicated alarm clock/sleep tracker, dedicated wifi security cam monitor, the list goes on. Maybe I should get more?

Looks like they also extended the Tracfone Samsung A10e (normally $119.99) and is currently around $52 + FS - it was $49.99 for Prime Members so still a steal!!

Not really. It's not a 16GB Sim card. It has internal memory of 16GB. It comes with the SIM card so you can activate a plan. If you're looking for a deal, look at this one [ebay.com]

I would like to know how you use with no data. Can you provide some details?
