Samsung has a trade in value of 200 for the galaxy watch or the gear s3, additionally they are also offering an instant 30 dollar rebate. You can also opt for the 41 mm which is 169. 45mm is 199 for Bluetooth wifi version. The 45mm 4g lte version is 249.

I finally got an update today (after chatting with a customer representative).

My Gear S3 Frontier reached Samsung on Oct 26th, there was no trade in acceptance mail. My new watch return window was Nov 2nd, So I contacted Samsung on Nov 2nd and they agreed to extend my return window if the trade in was not successful or if the amount was less than $200 and they asked me to wait for 10 business days. Till today there was no update and when I had a chat with them an hour ago, within a few minutes, the chat representative said I will receive a confirmation mail that there will be no chargeback on the trade in.

The mail read : " Hi <my name>, We are happy to inform you that there will not be any chargeback related to your trade-in order <order number> . No further action is needed at this point. Thank you for participating in the Samsung Trade-in program. "

Does it matter what band my S3 frontier has on it when I ship it for trade in? I like the rubber band on it better than the leather with the new one. I ordered an aftermarket rubber, which likely isn't as nice as what's on the frontier...I could also put that on the old one- Thanks for any info!

Bands are accessories and are not required for trade in. Just send the watch with no accessories (bands, charger).

I received the same email - and it included 2 photos: one showing the inside of an empty box, and the second one showing my shipping label.

Email also said they were going to charge me an additional $200. I chatted with customer service / online support and they are going to research it and reply via email within 3 business days.
