T-fal has a line called 'Heatmaster'. I bought a 10" pan on a Macy's Black Friday slickdeal and have been using the same pan on a gas cooktop literally everyday for almost 2 years and it's held up great. I love that you can put it in the oven too.

This is the style. https://slickdeals.net/e/12206893-macy-s-black-friday-t-fal-heatmaster-sapphire-infused-non-stick-pa...

Black Friday is only 5 weeks away. If you don't need pans today, I'd wait for then anyway.

Fwiw- I'm not one of those people that have any problems doing Rebates, having successfully done hundreds with maybe one or two issues over the last 10 years. And even then, they were cleared up easily with a call and/or resubmission.
I have that pan, from that deal. It's one of the most durable pans I've bought. Bought a second, for future use, given the cheap price after rebate back then. Still haven't had to break it out, actually.

I would like to "warn" readers about Macy's mail in rebate.

If you think you will buy any item and hope you will get your $10 back that is not going to happen.

MAIL IN REBATE FROM MACY'S IS A FRAUD !!

If you need to buy and pay the price then do it but if you want to buy because it is cheap after mail in rebate, NOTHING IS COMING BACK as rebate

I do not know which vendor Macy's uses but they are FULL OF SHYT !!
I got over 20 rebates successfully from Macy's last year. Didn't have any problems with any of them.

Get a cast iron pan. I have one for 7 yrs now, still like new. You just need to clean and oil after every use. Check Youtube for proper care. It also doubles as a weapon for the coming zombie apocalypse.

But I just want to cook my eggs without adding oil and at least being able to scrape them off. Without nonstick this seems impossible.
Go watch videos of seasoned carbon steel on YouTube. The amount of oil you need is miniscule. Add 1/4 tsp and use a paper towel to remove as much as you can. The egg won't stick.

From the article:

The article states that it is a problem if you over heat the pans because it can release chemicals into the air that can kill birds or cause headaches. So don't overheat the pans. And even if you do, as long as you aren't a bird, it is doubtful it is going to do much damage to you long term.
I agree with the assessment of the quality of these pans in general. I've bought this set probably 3 times and usually wind up buying it again to replace the worn out teflon coating. I'll probably order it again on Black Friday when it may be free after a rebate, or buy a better pan.
Close friends of mine told me that a neighbor found her parakeet dead in it's cage after using a new teflon pan. Guess they didn't know the risks of high temp cooking.

TFal is hit and miss. They have some amazingly cheap stuff, but some of their better stuff holds up really well.
I find T-fal is good when sold as as individual, but bad when sold as a set. Flipping an egg is a breeze

i too have that pan from that deal. its held up well, but after the mrs overheated it twice, its been kinda downhill. the surface hasnt flaked or anything, but it has indeed worn down to now no longer slide without a lot more grease.

searing with a non stick pan should never be done. its just no bueno and destroys the coating.

You can get T-fal's higher end stuff, like their advanced titanium, or professional series. Costco is currently selling a decent 3-pack for $25

Thank you! I will check the quality in club.

2 sets. Was limit 1 last time and they shipped one with different UPC number than that listed on the form. Replies from CS were inconsistent as to whether rebate would be honored. Didn't want to risk the rebate hassle and returned. Hope it works smoothly this time

All the comments about cast iron or steel pans being non stick are true. However, you have to get the seasoning perfect, and most importantly, no matter how perfect the seasoning is, it will absolutely never be as non-stick as a Teflon pan. You have to make a decision about how good you want your non-stick pan to be and how you feel about the effect on the environment because Teflon pans don't last forever

I picked the three pans deal up last time. The nonstick is really good. Makes them a breeze to clean. But, they are very thin and light weight. Lots of hotspots and it doesn't hold heat at all. That being said, I'm still very happy with them considering how much I paid.
That is why it's cheap. Thanks for the confirmation. I have so many of these light pans already. Looking for a sturdy winner from now on.
