How have you owned this 2020 model for the past 2 years?
From rtings-

"This TV supports the most common resolutions at 60Hz. Chroma 4:4:4 works properly with a PC even if the icon on the input isn't set to Computer, and it automatically displays proper chroma 4:4:4. For other sources to work, change the icon to Computer.

When you connect a PC, the TV switches automatically to PC mode. There's no way to use the TV with a PC and be outside of PC mode.

To set an HDMI port to full bandwidth 2.0, follow this sequence: Settings > TV Inputs > HDMI1 (for port 1) > HDMI Mode > HDMI 2.0."

Also, after doing this, make sure you have your PC is on 60hz instead of 29hz or 30hz. Your video card also needs to support 4k @60hz, otherwise you'd be stuck with 4k@30hz.
I'm not saying that much will change for the model in this thread (2020 S434), but RTINGS hasn't reviewed this model yet. The info you posted is for the 2019 4-series.

If you are using this as a pc monitor, reconsider. I received the 50in today and the picture quality was very bad when using it as a monitor.

Hello, how is the 4k quality. Does the picture lag at all? I've seen some 4k tvs that do.

Has the android interface gotten better? I've always stayed clear of Android tv's from reading all the bad comments about them here on SD.

Lag isn't an issue. It's pixelation and color accuracy. I've tried calibrating it and adjusting all the settings but couldn't get it to look halfway decent. Fwiw, native apps like Netflix and YouTube look great.

You can always return it if it doesn't work out. Good deal if it works.
How responsive is casting / navigation? The best buy listing has only 10 reviews.

What does the advanced settings color adjustment menu look like?

sony and hisense android TVs have a bunch of fine tuning color settings.

the pixelation... is like checkerboard pattern?

interesting, because the old 50" roku version didn't have checkerboarding.

For anyone who doesn't know.... checkerboarding .... see attached.
That shit makes a screen unusable for PC monitor....

Exactly. Checkerboarding is really bad on this one. I'm coming from the 2018 43" (43S403) which didn't have this problem.

Yes be sure to use HDMI 2.0 and don't use the standard 1.4 version with 4k tvs

same. I have a 43s405.

in the s400 series, only the 43 and 65" tv's didn't have checkerboarding. The 49 and 55 did.

If I remember correctly, the 50s425 didn't have checkerboarding either, when I looked at the demo at Target.

I feel like televisions are hard to judge these days, (all are "4k") unless you compare the one you're interested in side by side with a top notch television. If I'm wrong, please educate me. Thanks
