I received a letter to activate a bonus offer to automatically earn an additional 4% cash back, up to $25, on eligible purchases(*) at:
  • Consumer Electronic Stores, including purchases on:
    • Back to school supplies & home office essentials
  • Departments Stores, including purchase on:
    • Back to school shopping
  • Clothing Stores
  • Toy Stores
Must activate by 10/31/2020 for eligible purchases through 11/30/2020.

Two ways to activate:

  2. Enter Invitation Number: 123-456-7890
  3. Click Activate
or
  • Call to automatically enroll, 1-800-784-2484.
With either method you'll need your personal invitation number to activate.

NOT TRANSFERABLE. Excludes: discount stores, supercenters, and warehouses. Based on Merchant Category Codes. "Adjustments" will appear in one to two billing cycles.

Lol I got the letter too, went straight to trash. Very weak offer compared to other free cards.

Hmm I got the letter, activated it with QR code. It was instant, didn't have to put in anything.
The only category I would spend on is "consumer electronics stores."

But does that include big box Best Buy, Target, etc? I'm guessing the typical exclusions are there, but I didn't see anything.

Mine says extra CB only on Gas stations (Costco doesn't accept Mastercard), Hotels (lol) and Car rentals (lol x2).

I got one for restaurants about a month ago, I should have saved the letter because after activating I see nothing about it online and I don't know when it ends.

Definitely a ymmv thing. If you didnt get a letter, dont bother trying you need a unique code.

Citi double cash cards dont have categories. They are pretty straightforward, any vendor is fine as long as they accept mastercard.
