Arghhh, I've purchased two, don't know why. I have a mouse that is the same in size and shape, 15 year old, I feel like it is about to fail, teflon legs are gone.... I loved MX518, I can't use anything else.

I'm surprised yours lasted so long. Mine went bad in less than a year I think back in 2005 because the cord bending a lot where it exits the plastic shell. Was able to salvage it for a while by opening it up and moving the cord further in though, but that only buys some time until the new part of the cord goes bad. Looks like this newer version fixes that defect if you look at the pics[grooves-inc.com].
You can buy new OEM cords for like $5 on eBay. Open the the mouse, and just plugs right in. I've had to do that on several cords on mice such as on my original MX518 and G400.
I only stopped using my MX518 blue becuase it was getting so worn down (I think I still have it someplace...). Picked one up! I wonder if there is a blue shell I can swap out for it...?
I'm still using my original MX518 from 2009. I just ordered the Razer Viper Ultralight for Prime Day which coincidentally is out for delivery. Fun times I've had with this mouse. Great desktop mouse too as I used it a lot during WFH.
I got the viper mini very good for those with small hands.
It's a good mouse for sure. But keep in mind guys it's a really heavy mouse by modern gaming standards.
I own a couple of sub 80 gram mice which is fairly light but the problem is that all of them are too small for my hand. This one is heavier at a little over 100g but it's still light enough for FPS games personally. I have yet to find an affordable mouse that is light weight and big enough for my hands (my hands aren't even that big).
I guess its not a big seller that is why its so cheap. Those of us who have been around a while know this is the best mouse for gaming. I am still using the original MX518, but this price is too good to pass up.

I dunno, I just bought this mouse last month for $53. I'm using it right now and am wondering if this is a price mistake on Best Buy's part. Anyways, I picked up 3 more of them. This is a damn steal at $20

I remember buying a Logitech G7 which was the updated version of this mouse. You can find them used on eBay.

I currently rock a G300s and it's nice but the button placement is not optimal. Can't use thumb. And it's tall. Much taller than this mouse.
Main thing is the 518 is so much heavier than the G300s. Can anyone speak to the effect of the weight difference?
