Apparently I did not know the jem of a mouse that I have. I have been using the MX500 since 2002 (18 years) and it still works perfectly. I am purchasing this because all good things come to an end but in my case it will continue.
That's purely subjective. But the MX518 does come with a 16K Hero sensor. In my books, it's pretty much the benchmark of sensors. Lots of mice use the Hero sensor now, but this one is only $20 Still, think I prefer my G502 for $30 (if only they didn't chrome plate it now).
You can buy new OEM cords for like $5 on eBay. Open the the mouse, and just plugs right in. I've had to do that on several cords on mice such as on my original MX518 and G400.
You are absolutely correct on the ease of replacing! You can get the cord and 'feet' together, like $8. I've replaced usb once and feet multiple times on mine from 2005. Still in for 1 as another backup, went to proteus core on main rig but use original still on editing rig.
I guess its not a big seller that is why its so cheap. Those of us who have been around a while know this is the best mouse for gaming. I am still using the original MX518, but this price is too good to pass up.
I have a dead one in the closet somewhere. In the mean time, I've been using a Roccat 120 which I like alot, but i end up right-clicking by accident 8-10 times per day.
I went ahead and ordered one - the price is just too good to pass up.
I bought this after my original MX518 died about a year ago. It's a great mouse, essentially no different from the original except with the improved sensor (honestly I can't really tell the difference, despite being a long-time CSGO player).
In for one, for when my current one inevitably dies after years of abuse.
