I bought the bosch advantage per his recommendation but they didn't last super long. In florida heat, parked in the garage, my blades are making noises after 9 months. Maybe that's the norm though. I paid $23 for the bosch advantage from Amazon. So willing to try the icons.
Unrealistic bullshit test.

What people care about is lifespan and chatter at end of life, not whether blades can handle more water from a hose than you'd see in a hurricane. Rain is measured in inches per hour or day, not gallons per minute.

I do not quite understand why silicone blades are so much more $$$. Silicone material is just little more to buy and process than rubber. I understand it performs a lot better, but they may only cost 20% more to make.
Products are priced based on value, not cost.

Silicone wipers are simply that much better than rubber (even high end Bosch Icons).

Check this through review...he has all the best unbiased reviews.

The cheaper Bosch Advantage tied with more expensive Michelins per his tests. See 12:53 mark.
While I like how he tests, it doesn't give real-world effects for the Rain-X latitude blades in there. The way they coat the windshield can't be overstated.
It was enlightening to see how the old beam construction causes its own issues.

Am I reading this correctly. The sale is for 2 packs meaning 2 sets of wipers so 4 individual wipers in total?
No, you get two individual wipers, one each of the sizes specified. It looks like they are pre-packaged in sets of two individual wipers at Bosch so they may only offer a limited selection of combinations.

Mine came in a plain brown box with a Bosch label that showed the combination of wipers inside. There is no Amazon identification on the box. The wipers themselves are just slipped into the same cardboard sleeve that comes with the individual retail wiper blades, but without all the extra plastic and filler cardboard packaging that comes with those. The blades themselves look identical to the retail Bosch Icons I already have on our cars. I noticed these new ones are labeled 'Made in China'. I'll have to check the packaging from the old ones I kept just in case I needed them to see if they also were made in China or if this is a new development.

Maybe these are really great wipers, but is any pair of wipers really worth this much?
If your wiper arm design sucks and these work ...then yes

Can confirm my old ones from over 11 months ago say they are from China

I saw this deal and I happen to be ready for new blades. Decided instead to buy Aero Voyager from Amazon for about half the price.

My Bosch Icons lasted 2 years plus before they started squeaking, and I left them on for 4 years. 1997 Corolla. Still work, kind of. Here in Los Angeles, by the beach, I use them year round mostly to wipe away condensation, dew, and its dangerous driving away in the morning with a bad set of wipers waiting for the windshield to warm up and stop the constant condensation smears of H20. I loved the Icons. They paid for themselves over budget types that did not last even 1 year before they quit wiping away condensation in the morning. Driving in hard rain was a dream and I could definitely tell the difference from the cheap ones I had before (I think rain-x budget, but can't remember).

This time I will buy AERO Voyager, 2 for $18. In this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3S8udUSKtY shared by someone in this thread, the guy recommends Aero as a budget option. Mostly, I want to be able to simply replace the rubber inserts next time and this one comes with an extra set of replacement rubber. Hopefully they last long enough structurally. 1 star reviews say they fall apart.

Marketing, creating levels and tiers. Get the low but have a product line covers a wide range of potential spend.
Obviously scale plays a role but the concept of levels not really being directly related to material and design costs is in a lot of industries. A low end couch may have 2x2 or 2x3 lumber supports inside. A high end couch may have much stronger 2x4 internal supports. The difference in price between the quantity used in each is probably less than $3 total but can end up being a $350-500 difference in the end price and the choice is obviously not involving extensive engineer work or design costs for either or material availability for either. Thin wall and thick wall copper pipes, tires, power tools, in older times, a 8x cdrom vs a 12x cdrom, current day televisions. The low end becomes commodity with little differentiation and razor thin margins. Back on to cars... Do you really think the range of cost of various Sylvania and specifically the Silverstar headlight bulbs costs 3x as much as the lower end? No. It creates a a market segment of "good, better, best" because a lot of people WILL pay more for something "better" or best so why not make it (even if the cost to make it better was a small percentage of the potential retail price increase. Who makes your outdoor home AC unit? A good chance the same company as your neighbors but under a different "sub brand". We could toss in regional encoding racket of DVD/Blueray movies to try to artificially impose restrictions across regions of various income. People in the a third world country might not pay the equivalent $25 for a Blueray release but they want to sell them there and how do they prevent that $5 version from being resold in first world areas? That is a case of using law or digital manipulation to create levels and to get people with more money to spend more money.
Nicely explained. It is ugly greed, manipulation and deceit.

I thought about getting the Aero blades, but quite a few reviews said they fell apart in a short time.
