All I see is 1 month for 12,000 points or 3 months for 35,000 points.

Is there any expiration date on these? Can I purchase them now and activate in a few months?

No excuse now, playing games for maybe an hour every other day can get you an easy 1000-|2000 points per month depending on the quests. I went from 0 to 6500 in a little over two months just playing Final Fantasy IX to completion.
Yeah, but assuming you still play games outside of GP, you're not minimizing your per-month cost for GP.

Redeeming Points for Credit, Then Using Credit to Buy GP
  • Maximize point value by redeeming a $100 GC for 91,000 points and using that credit to pay for GP.
  • In reality, you'd have to buy smaller denominations to round to an amount of GP time since credits expire in 90 days, but I'm keeping it simple.
  • Effective monthly cost: Same as retail ($15/m), you're just using points to pay instead of actual money.
Redeeming Points Directly for GP in the Rewards App
  • 12,000 points per month
  • Effective monthly cost: $12.96/m (using 0.108 cents per point for the $10 GC for valuation)
Today's Deal
  • Effective monthly money cost: $8.08 ($24.09 / 3)
My GP sub is good until March with the initial Gold conversion, and I'm debating whether to renew it. If I do, I will likely use deals like this that come up pretty often to keep it going while saving my points for purchasing games outside of the GP library. In the last couple years, I've purchased the following non-GP games using only credit from Rewards points:
  • The Inner World
  • Metro Redux Bundle
  • Thimbleweed Park
  • Borderlands Game of the Year
  • Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition
  • Unravel Two
  • Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Gold Edition
  • Return of the Obra Dinn
  • Maize
  • Life Is Strange Complete Season
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • The Witcher 2
  • Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Add-Ons Bundle
  • GTA:IV

or if you haven't done so already, use the 1 dollar upgrade to convert 36 months of gold ... approx.150 bucks spent on gold = 500 free in gamepass ultimate over three years

This won't work again if we already did the conversion correct? My kid's Xbox Live Gold expires in December but we already did the conversion. Just making sure I can't do it again somehow? I guess worse case I'll just go with Xbox Live again. Looks like Costco is a decent price on that for a year?

Thanks,

Ok I'll give it a try and see what happens.

What's a good deal on (1) year of xbox live gold? I think it's around $55 at costco or so. Are there better deals to be had? Don't really want to jump through hoops or go through some shady site, etc for a code/

I find 55 at costco to be middle of the road, you know you're going to get the code, via email within an hour, some of these fly by night sights that I've used it's taken days and in rare instances I've had to fight with my credit card to get my money back, so there's that. Costco for the win, there.

Keep in mind you are trading time for free GPU. I am all about the rewards and almost at 200K waiting for a sale but most of mine are earned through the bing searches/mobile.

Agreed that time is a commodity, but you should be able to do all the daily activates and searches in under 5 minutes.

Meanwhile some people have zero problem waiting in a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts drive thru every morning.

All subjective I guess.

Those coffee and donut people are wasting their time too. As are we posting on here.

The days where wasting time for free points makes sense are well behind many people.

While this isn't a bad deal, right now you are better off gettting a year of EA Play for $26, since it will convert to 4 months GPU on November 10th. Just keep in mind that your GPU sub can't extend longer than 3 years.
Has anyone done this recently? Especially current game pass members?

Nothing happened when I clicked on that link after logging in - just a little green circle keep spinning. Would I need to enter a new xbox live code first before trying that link? If so I don't have a code to use right now as I'm trying to find a deal on one. Maybe the website was just having an issue though?
