Got this product before and hated it. The base won't stay properly. Magnet part is fine.

I had the opposite problem with this product. My phone kept falling off the magnet and it took a lot of prying to get the base off the dashboard.

I have this and like it a lot - but I didn't at first. The base MUST be attached to a flat, dash surface. If the surface curves a little then its no good. You might see a mostly flat surface and think "ok thats mostly flat and a little bit of a slope wont matter." Oh yes it will - the phone and base will come off quick. I made the mistake of trying a slight curve and phone came off in no time. I was ready to throw it away in disgust but made one last try on a flat surface. The bugger has been hanging in for two months now and that includes having phone bounce around for 14 hours on a 2x trip over NY States rotten road's.The thing is golden now

This is my problem and I suspect will be for many of us. In most modern cars it's really difficult to find an inch of a flat surface on the dashboard. I know I've sat in the seat staring at the dash like a moron for far too long just to give up and use a windshield mount.

I have this and equally love it. No issues with the mounting base nor magnet.

As mentioned, surface needs to be flat (which is fine for my Optima)

You could always get a vent clip (same idea with the magnet base)!

I had this. It is not sturdy enough. The arm won't stay stable. The magnet is fine and has good hold.

I been using this for 3 months and love it. Surface has to be flat and the tape pad that goes on dash has to sit for 24 hrs. Before attaching suction cup to it. Also make sure its a clean surface. If you are looking for a smaller more streamlined magnetic mount system, and then i suggest "Clutchit".
I also have the clutchit on another car and its great. Only drawback is it doesn't have the long neck with a bend that i needed for my Honda Pilot.

my car also is hard to find a spot, and my dashboard is textured so things don't stick well.

Vent clips, i personally don't like those . In the winter, your Heater will be blowing onto the phone making it HOTTT

i got this and like it, but for a specific purpose. mount it to the top of my dash directly on top of the speedometer to have my phone pretty much on top of the steering wheel. surprisingly works good even though the top of the dash is slightly curved, but it is hard plastic which helps. it comes with a round flat piece to stick on your dash but didn't even need to use it.

haha.. yes I recall that problem with the hot vents. I always ended up just turning that particular one off.

Bought it last time and had to return it. The base would not stay attached to my dash after one day of use.
