They are not on sale in the Quest store. You have to buy them from the Rift Store. You can then buy them for Free on the Quest store. It's convoluted, but that's how Facebook made it. These are cross buy, meaning that you can play it on the Quest and Quest 2 stand alone or on PC with Quest PC Link
Yes. Don't buy anything from Facebook. Just wait until you have to watch a commercial to play a game. "I promise, we wouldn't do that." There are many other sellers of VR gear that don't threaten to steal your games or force social media participation and advertising.
How safe is it to buy from the Oculus store these days? I have the OG Rift but am concerned about sinking any more money into them because if I ever want to get another headset THAT'S NOT TIED TO FACEBOOK, I think I'll basically lose my entire library. I remember in the beginning I sent them a bunch of emails requesting that they open up the store to all headsets, some of which they were actively blocking, not just Oculus. "Exclusives" need to die a quick death. I never understood why people support a practice that excludes gamers who have other hardware.
You'll have to use your real Facebook account in two years or you'll still lose your games.
FYI, you will need a Facebook account to use any Oculus headset from now for the Quest line to sometime in the near future for everything else. All purchases and activity will be tied to your Facebook account, which requires your real name. You will also be subject to Facebook policy to continue use of the hardware. This was previously promised to never happen.
Social VR engineering. The Matrix is coming. Neo/John Wick will save us.
So do ANY of these comments tell us if these games are worth buying... All I see is everyone complaining about facebook. Maybe rightfully so but idk if this is the platform for that. I just want to know if down the rabbit hole is worth my money.

Prometheus101,
Yeah, a good friend of mine really enjoyed the Rabbit Hole game. And it scores very well on MetaCritic. Looks fun from the trailer as well. So I bought it am looking forward to playing it.
Re all the folks complaining about Oculus in the context of FB... agreed. I absolutely understand and respect the concerns and frustration, but this is really not the right thread, any more than it'd be appropriate to thread-crap in every Amazon deal with complaints about Jeff Bezos, Amazon workplace culture and societal impact, etc. Again, valid conversations and concerns, but not the right place.
Jumped on down the rabbit hole last night when it saw it on sale on the oculus store. After running through the first section myself I let my wife try to play it. She's not used to gaming so had trouble with joystick, A button mechanics and couldn't figure out the roots thing right away. A little extra effort streamlining the controls or adding a better tutorial would make it a much better introductory game.
My daughter is an artist that uses krita with a drawing tablet and also publishes a comic to web toons. I'm wondering about what to let her test drive. Is gravity sketch good for that?
