If anybody wants a real 3M N95 mask, they are on ebay. Search for "3M 9210" or "3M 9105" or "3M 8511" or any of the other model numbers of 3M N95 masks listed here:
I paid about $80 for 8 legit N95s a few months ago, gave them out to elderly family members and such. Prices are better now it appears.
As usual, beware of scams and fakes and stuff, read sellers' feedback before making a purchase. I had some legit N95s purchased from a hardware store at the start of the year, and I compared those to the ones from ebay and they were the real deal. fark the coronavirus and all the stupes that won't wear a mask to keep their germs to themselves. At least I can protect myself and family with a real mask.
IMO the US Gov't should have ordered mass-production of N95 masks to distribute to the majority of the US workforce to allow for real protection to stop the spread and businesses to continue operating somewhat. But we have incompetent douches at the top, so we failed.
I'm always skeptical of these no name brand masks for so cheap, but I have bought around 100 kn95 masks from dptmotorsport for family and myself. We've used about 40-50 of them over the last couple months and here is what I have found: the masks all came individually wrapped some in boxes of 10, when I bought 50 last time they were not in boxes. None have had much of a weird smell if any 👍. They seem to be from the same manufacturer but perhaps they have two different machine lines because they usually are a mix of one of two which are slightly different from one another. 1 style the kn95 logo is slightly smaller and the front where the pieces are pressed/melted together on the front has slightly different dimensions. I've yet to find a mask that wasn't constructed properly. Only one has had an ear loops break off but that was after taking it on and off probably 100 times over a couple days. Both fit great for me and are what I would call a large size (I've tried some other ones that were too small for me but ok for my wife, medium) these might be a bit big on a smaller face/kids/women. These, if the same as what I've gotten multiple times from this seller before, fit ok on my wife but she has to snug up the ear loops a good bit.
All of them, the ear loops are a good thickness and seem durable enough but they all have been too long, even for me. I like my mask somewhat tight for a good seal. I bought this off Amazon for like $7 (PLAZALA Cord Lock 100pcs White Black Soft Plastic Round Elastic Mask Adjustment Buckle Adult Children Elastic Adjustment Accessories https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086Y94...UTF8&psc=1), to snug up the ear loops using a twist tie to thread them through. Honestly, while I understand being nervous, if these are the same/similar to the 50 batch I bought from them last time @$22, then these are a steal @$12.
I bought three boxes of the regular masks from this seller when it was around $4 a box and they all seem to have worked out fine for and the fam. I'll give these a try.
These look a bit risky. There's no specific mention of a "meltblown" layer. There's no specific KN95 standard used, "GB2626–2006". Instead, the images point to one layer being a KN95 layer and another layer being an N95 layer, neither of which make sense.
Other options:
A real N95 on an elastomeric respirator (filters inhale only)
Hey guys just watched a PBS documentary about PPE, I believe all of the ear loop masks are not N95/KN95. I think they are required to have two head straps.
That is the main difference....
N95 need to be around head (more tight) BUT KN95 can be around ears.

I am under the impression that KN95 is the standard.
I do see what you mean...layer being a KN95 layer and another layer being an N95 layer... but it does not go into depth, perhaps N95 masks use that as a layer? But perhaps you are getting caught up with the labels. These do have 5 layers... either it is true... they are real KN95 or not... that is they prevent 95% of particles in the air.
KN95 FACE MASK 95% FILTER DISPOSABLE RESPIRATOR 5-PLY... the question is.... IS THIS TRUE???

There shouldn't be any need for "impressions". Either it's made to a standard or it isn't. To be made to a KN95 standard, there ought to be a mention of "GB2626–2006". Frequently, this is printed right on the mask.
I got the 5 pack from this seller to try them out and to see if they possibly could be legit KN95. No way they are legit KN95 (I have one from Japan a client gave me) These are pretty thin but still the price is good. Just don't expect them to protect like an actual N/KN95 mask would
You didn't cut one open to count/review the layers(5)?
How do you know they are legit? Did you spend thousands and use one of the eight masks to test it by a scientist?
I explained in the post you're quoting already, go back and read the rest of it.
I paid about $12 for 4 3M brand N95 masks from the hardware store back at the beginning of the year before everybody sold out or stopped selling retail. Next I paid $80 total for 8 masks from ebay, and they were legit, same exact model that I bought at the hardware store. It was the least price-gouging auction from a reputable seller I could find at the time.
