$899.99, down from $1,099.99. Not quite as good of a deal as a couple weeks back, but still seems good.

Best Buy return policy good through Jan 16, 2021

Even better pricing if you can do open box.

First time poster, be gentle.... Smilie

The 4800u is no where to be found in the US. Also this is only 0.7" and 3.6 pounds which is amazing for a gaming laptop. As for battery life it has been reported that it is superb on this laptop
Superb battery life for a gaming laptop, sure. I think a full day (8-10 hours) is doable. It's not the 15+ hours of life that top ultrabooks have.

I'd stay away from Asus laptops because of their awful thermals in general.

I'm so mad I missed the $799.99 deal about a couple of weeks ago, that I'm going to pass on it for $100 more here.

That and the 8gb soldered ram are the worst things about this laptop. I have a differently-spec'd model (2060) and it's a great all-around laptop.
Does that have a webcam and no soldered ram slots?

No, same laptop as this one, just a few different components (cpu, gpu, and lcd).

I noticed the last deal on that was like $1,300s

Worth the price differential?

Only for gaming and/or the higher refresh panel, if that's important to you. I would've rather that prior $800 deal, tbh. I got mine at $1,250 - edu discount, so it wasn't really so bad. Love the laptop though!

I did upgrade the SSD. Comes with an Intel 660p. I replaced it with an XPG SX8200 pro. The Intel drive is one of my favorite budget SSDs, but this ain't no budget laptop. ;-)

How is typing on this? I really like Home and End keys for coding.

It doesn't look like this has home and end keys. You might have to setup custom key bindings.

I'm looking for a coding/productivity laptop too. I just bought the LG ultra from Best Buy for $999. It has the home and end keys as fn modified on the arrow keys.

Yeah the more I use something without Home/End the more i miss it. I really like the specs and quality of this so might just have to suck it up. XPS13 is supposed to be on a good sale for BF and I have a coupon for 17% off

If you're buying from dell and have amex, you can take advantage of an Amex off for an additional $100 off. I personally would try the dell outlet. I got an 8th generation dell xps for $800 earlier this year (February). It was new and advertised as new.
I think it was an i7 8565u, 16GB ram, 256GB ssd with fhd screen. Xps 9380.

I think it's fair as there really hasn't been a huge bump in processor performance on intel between the generations.
