Home Depot has a special going on right now for a 7" + 4.5" rafter square combo. The link is only for reference. They do NOT have this on their website.
The 7" is normally 14.97 by itself. So, you're getting a 4.5" for free (~$10.97 value).
My local Depot only had 6 hanging on a clip (the next aisle over from where the other squares were located).

Can you return the 7" and keep the 4" for a lower price?

Edit: for anyone who misunderstood this comment. I didn't mean return the tool for a full refund while you keep the other. Home Depot/Lowes are known to have multi tool deals like these and they'll allow a return of one tool for a partial refund of your money to keep the other. You get a deal on a tool and they still make a sale.

Is there andvantage buying name brand vs buying one from Harbour freight? The pricing difference is quite a bit. Plus, we can always get 20% off coupon on HF

I was surprised that my Depot had it. My local store is roughly 2/3 the size of a "normal" Depot (used to be a Home Club).
Currently, you might have to HUNT one down at your Depot.
Good Luck

I've been using this very same HF square on my deck for the past two weekends and it's been great. I had even bought the name brand Swanson Speed Square from Amazon to compare and it's the same design. I prefer the engraved markers on the HF square to the less engraved, but then painted on the Swanson.

I have one of those and mine is not square & has a small hump on the side that you only notice once you take a pencil and mark a line.

I've been burned by trusting HF levels & squares. Hard pass for me these days.

To the gent who asked how returning one of these items is theft.

Manufacturer has two products, commingled in one blister pack, and offers a discounted price on multi-pack. When one piece in those two is returned, sans packaging, it needs to go back to the manufacturer as used and they eat the shipping of that product to and from the retailer, so they're screwed.

The retailer, who bought and sold the multi-pack unit wholesale at less than the the cost of the two items independently, now has the return. They lookup the price of one of the items (sometimes returned without a receipt, sometimes with depending on store policy), and the return you the retail price of the single item, which you never paid...you paid a discounted retail price for the multi-pack. They are basically giving you back more than you paid for the item. They are getting screwed.

That's it in a nutshell. Nobody is going to prosecute you for theft, but it's akin to the folks who buy from Costco, plan on keeping it for 6 months, then returning it.
