I too have that same thought. But I will say that I have both a camp chef and a pit boss and while they have decent sized hoppers they don't do that good of a job. Mostly pellets get stuck on the sides and I just have a hole in the middle of the hopper. Smokers are getting better and better tho.
I have a camp chef too. Just ran into that issue for the first time this weekend. Did a bunch of cooks, and my last one on saturday my pork loin was done and went to go pull it and looked and the controller and it was quickly dropping in temp. I knew I was low on pellets, just was lazy and didnt want to get a new bag from the garage. Never an issue with full hopper, but an issue nonetheless if you dont keep an eye on it. I've done overnight cooks with a full hopper. Top it off before going to bed, top it off when I woke up.
Ditto what some other folks said about waiting for a deal and know what you're getting, unless you were already just on the fence about one of these models. Not that this is a bad price for a pellet smoker by any means.
Also ditto the "watch the hopper" comments. I ran into that problem this past weekend on a brisket smoke. Luckily, I was already into crutch time, and it was wrapped, so I just moved it to the oven to finish, which I probably should have done to begin with. It's not a huge deal, just make sure you check the hopper. And a wireless probe thermometer with an ambient probe is a must-have unless your grill has wireless built in!
Finally, the one big complaint I have about most pellet grills is that the included wheels majorly suck. Here's a post about a mod I did to my Camp Chef with pneumatic wheels that can go just about anywhere, but even make moving on concrete way easier: https://www.reddit.com/r/pelletgr...wheel_mod/
I read blind box, and thought, 'no way, it can't be like the Funko stuff i collect,' and sure enough, it is. And those dam Funko blind box always suck, so expect the minimum i would say
Im surprised how small some of there hoppers are. Honestly, you might be better off waiting for a sale on a Camp Chef. Target and Dicks have sales where you can get one for $350-$400.
I saw a Pit Boss Classic for $300 at Walmart the other day. I've never thought the hopper was too small for my use. Last year they were commonly found on clearance for $250 (and maybe $200?), but I haven't seen anything like that this year, and I'll gladly pay $300 for another one if mine walks off on its own some night. No idea if this is common but it may be an option worth looking for, and the bigger PB Texas Classic has been discounted at some Walmarts.
This Z Grills deal is interesting though. I like my PB but I'm brand agnostic and I recommend pellet grills to everyone I meet, LOL.

What size hopper does the PBC have? My CC has a 20lb hopper. I can get through 8-10hrs of cooking and its probably still right around half full. With a 10lb hopper, I would be worried about doing cooks overnight.
I had the same question. Found Sportsman's Warehouse in Chattanooga. The Camp Chef mentioned is not onsale online and requires you to pick it up. Not very helpful if you are not near there.

I think the specs say 20 pound hopper. I'm not sure about that but I did a 12-hour brisket and it didn't run out, and I know I didn't fill it to the very tippy top.
Just different. Overall Kamado grills are more versatile, but not as easy/automatic as these pellet grills (unless you get a grill controller for them, or get one of the new Kamado Joe pellet kamado grills). Just depends on what kind of cooking you do and what you're looking for.
I had a question about the promotion and had to leave a message with Z Grills as nobody answered. I did receive a call back hours later from a guy out of Ontario, CA that said he was Chinese. I asked him where he was from since his accent was so heavy and his English was hard to understand. He said that Z Grills is a Chinese company and there were some American employees. The $309 deal does not include covers on the 550 and 600 models in the Blind Box deal. The Home Depot 450 with the grill seems like a better deal.
i bought one, got delivered yesterday. was expecting the 550b, but hopefully something bigger. got the 550b. this is my first smoker, so I'm not picky yet. these grills are made in china, if that helps?
when they ship, you get an idea what you get when you check the weight of your package.
