actually bought the JBL Xtreme 2 as well when it went on sale for $150,,,,,got it yesterday, direct comparison between the two....I prefer the Sony over the JBL.....JBL is good being more sturdy and the sling is a plus but the sound is flatter, has deeper base but the Sony beats it on the treble spectrum plus the illumination/light effects.....also the ability to tweak and adjust equalization on the Sony thru the app is a big plus....my first preference was Clear Audio+ setting but later on customized the EQ to the common "V" setting with extra bass ON and Live setting was my fave now.
