It looks like the whole point of the "adventure ready" series was compact / rapid storage and versatility...this walmart unit just doesn't belong. If you check the manual you will see that there are mounts for the legs that project down several inches below the unit so it cannot be fully disassembled for travel, and nobody would go through that effort anyway. As others stated, this unit does not have the versatility to work easily on a picnic table either, so you would have to take all the stand parts with you. Even though I don't plan on moving it often, I'm more inclined to purchase the older actual "adventure ready" model https://www.walmart.com/ip/Blacks.../179647360
Yep, this unit should be called "patio ready". I was hoping the legs would fold down with a pull of a pin or lever, but it's not adventure or break down able at all. Glad I bought the previous adventure ready 22" on clearance about a month ago for $100. My intent is to use it for park and camping trips.
The version on this deal is useless for that as it doesn't break down
So, I took other's advise here and checked my local Walmart for clearanced blackstones that aren't visible on brickseek. Well, for $100 even today this is what I walked out with. 170lbs of awesome (and folding legs to boot). Cooked pineapple fried rice with a Thai fusion red coconut curry twist. It was so incredibly nice to cook on. Makes amazing crispy rice! After making my first meal, I certainly see why people upgrade to the larger models. It was really nice to have this much space (36") to properly cook all the ingredients. I think a 28-in would have been perfect for this meal without the squash which I was just cooking to get rid of. I actually don't think I could have made a large batch for having leftovers in one go on the 22", which isn't as deep so it's less than half the cooking area of the 36". I went in hoping to find a folding leg 22 model but walked out with the 36. I've never cooked on a real griddle before tonight....so excited for more dishes I used to do in a bunch of pans smoking up my annoying hoodless kitchen. I'll still definitely consider buying the old version of the 22 if I can find it on clearance for traveling. Awesome apparatus.
So weird. One person walks in and gets a "36 top and I go in and the 100 thing their supposed to actually have on sale they don't even have. Walmart ebsite site you could buy it at 9pm pst, now says have to buy in store and that it's in stock at my store, which it wasn't. Understand the chaos with covid black friday but this is shaping up to be an absolute bummer of YMMV.
