People commenting in this thread have had this luggage for many years. A lot of airlines used to have larger carry-on sizes. Now it varies airline to airline. These fit Southwest or JetBlue, but not United or Spirit, for example.
And in my limited experience, most airlines don't really check. As long as they fit in the overhead you're fine. In a dozen flights in the past few years I've never seen one of those "your bag must fit in this metal contraption" things used.
I'm sure it happens, but you can do everything right and still get your carry-on bumped to check. I'm pretty paranoid about having my personal/carry-on within spec, but I have had my carry-on switched to checked because they ran out of overhead space.
Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Precheck are the only ones that can take advantage of that type of luggage these days.
Diplomats, certain government employees as well.
I ordered the soft shell version of this bag and can confirm it's really well-constructed, if slightly heavy.
Never had an issue "sneaking" a slightly overlarge carry-on on international or US domestic. Asian and South American have been sticklers before. I'll def be packing a laptop sleeve with this bag in case I need to check it and carry my computer in my hands
I bought this a few weeks back but paid the $60 and love it. I still contacted adorama via chat to see if they would refund me the $5 but they said the best they could do is give me $5 credit...i took it, better than nothing.

This suitcase: 23 x 15 x 8.00 inches.
This suitcase is one inch over both Height and Width limits.
Since this suitcase cannot be used as a carry-on, it is on sale.
Since I need a suitcase to protect MacBook during flight, I will pass this one because of over-limit for
carry-on.

I've never had a single carrier reject my bag, from major domestic carriers to overseas carriers and even budget airlines like EasyJet.
