Amtrak [amtrak.com]: Get more for the memories. Now for a limited-time, when you book select adult fares you'll also receive one free companion fare for your child (eligible ages 2–12 years old).

Available on nearly all Amtrak routes, so whether you're looking for a quick trip on Acela, a scenic getaway on the Coast Starlight, a frontier adventure aboard the Southwest Chief, or want to bring your car along for the ride on Auto Train, this offer includes route options and destinations to fit whatever your travel preferences may be. Skip traffic, the cost of gas, and tolls, and pack more than what you need because you can bring four bags free. On Amtrak, you and your little one can get a jumpstart on some quality time while keeping a little more money in your pocket.

Amtrak has implemented a range of enhanced safety measures — including mask requirements, limited bookings, efficient air filtration and more — to help you travel more comfortably. Restrictions apply. Select Child fare from the traveler drop-down menu in the fare finder above and book a minimum of three (3) days in advance.

Offer is on sale October 20–25, 2020, for travel October 26–December 17, 2020. Travel blackout dates apply November 24–25 and November 28–30, 2020.

Half capacity and masks required except for when you are eating or drinking. Also, in a private room, mask isn't required.

The 62,000 new diagnosed cases a day disagrees with you. Concern should be warranted and accounted for before deciding on what is and wasn't isn't worth the risk for yourself and those who you are in close contact with. Just because you're fatigued from thinking about it doesn't mean it doesn't exist anymore.

I'm in Cabo for the weekend... I'm too busy traveling to worry about your inability to fully appreciate the statistics you're fed. Stay at home and we'll keep the economy afloat.

You're welcome.

I'm not running away to other countries, I'm working to keep the economy afloat and spending my money in the USA. Wink It's astonishing how, even at this point, you don't understand the very basics how you get an infection from this or really contagion or understand the concept of to help the economy you don't spend it in other countries...

New cases means nothing without hospitalizations, icu beds and deaths. If those latter things stay low (which they are) then new cases is a GOOD thing. It means more people are building up immunity and that's the only way we get through this thing.

Depending on city ICU capacity remaining is in quite a few locations less than 10%. Deaths is a terrible indicator as it's a binary view upon impact of the virus as it believes the only outcomes are death or perfect health. It ignores the brain clots, lung scarring, heart arrhythmia among anything else that has an ACE2 receptor. Immunity is NOT the reason the death rate relative to infection number has gone down, it's by 8 months of learning how this virus works hence hospitals are finding better ways to treat to prevent deaths. Immunity believes that a majority (even a minority of 20% of the US is still 66 million people) have already gotten the virus and now have a temporary elevated anti-body count in their system. Please stop with this immunity nonsense as the only way to build an immunity to something is to be exposed and infected by it. With a virus that has a 1-2% kill rate even in countries with good medical systems you can hopefully work out the math if even 50% of a country is infected and exposed to the virus to build even the minimum standard of immunity... This is truly silly to have to explain all this for the nth time over a half year into it.

But back to this deal - if you need to travel with your kids for whatever reason it's a way to save money. For leisure, measure the risks.
