Do you know if the contact sensor act as a glass break detector? I have like 5 windows alone on the first floor. Figure hat it would make more sense to just get a glass break detector, I think that's what it's called.
I read somewhere that the echo shows and other amazon things like this double as glass sensors when system is armed. If someone can confirm would be good. Nevermind looks like guy right behind me just confirmed this is the case.

No deal on the $150 retrofit? I guess they don't want to encourage people to use their old sensors when they can charge $20 a window.

How do you get the student discount? Just need an .edu email address?

Also, is 2nd gen a bad thing?

The sensors are to protect from those burglars who are too lazy to bring a tool to break the windows, remove the jagged glass pieces, and climb in. It catches burglars who break the glass, reach up and unlock the window before pushing it up or over. The most important sensor one needs is the motion sensor.

Where do you get the student discount? Do you get a code from UniDays or something to paste in the promo code box?
https://shop.ring.com/pages/exclusive-discounts

They use a company called VerifyPass and once verified, they provide a discount code you apply during checkout. You can only receive one code per day, so make sure you buy everything at once in a single order (unless you are OK waiting 24 hours to place another order with a new code).
