Been watching for a deal on a decent 1080p projector and while refurbs seem to sell for less, if you want a new projector, this seems like a good deal.

Epson Home Cinema Full HD 1080p 3LCD projector:
  • 2,500 lumens of equal color and white brightness
  • Widescreen Full HD 1080p entertainment
  • supports MHL-enabled devices for mirroring and charging
  • Dynamic contrast ratio up to 35,000:1 for rich detail in dark scenes
  • Built-in 10 W speaker
  • 3D

Using Bluetooth with my soundbar to my projector was always a nightmare - Sound was always cutting out and I would not recommend it at all.

Connecting the soundbar directly to the Blu-ray player via an optical cable (and the blu ray player connecting directly to the projector via HDMI cable) is the setup that finally allowed me to enjoy my home theater with no problems whatsoever.

My soundbar has a wireless subwoofer and satellite speakers and those do connect to the soundbar via Bluetooth with no problem.

PS I would jump all over this deal if I didn't already have a great projector. It is like having your own private movie theater and so much fun to watch content. I can't recommend it enough. Some 3D is so great it looks like it's in the room with you.
Plus you don't need to invest in or install an expensive screen if you don't want to. I have a large wall painted with HD projection paint. Here is an article about using paint on the wall you plan to project on, in case anyone is interested:

Thanks for the info. I am using it from 4 years using wired 5.1 speaker system. I planned to wall mount and connect using the Bluetooth. Let me explore Blu-ray player option also.

Sir its a 3LCD, meaning it has a spinning light that bounces between 3 LCD to produce a color of a pixel of an image, 1 for Red, 1 for Green and 1 for Blue (RGB).
I swear to GOD that said 3d when I saw it.

It is 3LCD, but also 3D video capable.

I, too, have been looking at the 2150 for awhile. I found this:

"one big difference between the 2100 and 2150 is contrast -- the 2100 is rated at 35,000:1 while the 2150 is 60,000:1. Also the 2150 comes with WiDi and Miracast for wireless streaming, and it also has wireless network control for control by a remote network computer. That is a lot of extras on the 2150 over the 2100 for only $50, so judging from the specs it seems like a no-brainer to go with the 2150."
Thanks but 2150 has been priced at $699 so it's like ~$200 more than this deal.

Epson Home Cinema 2150, $899: The HC2150 is the flagship of the entry level home theater projectors under $1,000. Like the 2100 it has the 1.6x zoom and vertical lens shift, and 10-watt audio. Both are MHL-enabled. one big difference between the 2100 and 2150 is contrast -- the 2100 is rated at 35,000:1 while the 2150 is 60,000:1. Hmmm I see what you mean. $50 is the MSRP difference. So at this price 2100 is definitely a steal right?

I have the 2150 and love it. Quality is great. Also I don't think anyone mentioned it but replacement bulbs are a great deal at $50 a bulb from Epson. I haven't replaced mine yet but it sure beats the $200 to $300 from some manufactures. As far as 2150 vs 2100, I mainly bought it for the contrast ratio. I never use any of the wireless functions.

Confused by the comments so far. Is this a 3D projector? I see it's a "3LCD" projector but didn't see anything in the description about 3D.

I have a question hopefully someone can answer.
I bought the $120 projector recently. It was also 1080p so it looked pretty good on the wall. Got a screen and its pretty small compare to the wall and doesn't look good. Can I paint my wall white, would that make it look better than beige wall? are some screens bigger than 120"? cuz thats small and seems very thin too.
Thanks

I am not sure why they don't tout this as a feature -- but I suppose 3-D support is not something that consumers seek these days? I still have a PS3 with a bunch of 3-D capable games as well as a bunch of 3-D Blu-rays. I suppose I can use my PSVR headset for the movies at least -- but can't share with a family. Smilie But yes, this projector is 3-D capable... however you do need a 3-D video source as well as RF Active Shutter 3-D glasses.

For more information about the features of this projector, please refer to the Epson 2100/2150 manual... https://files.support.epson.com/d...53843.pdf. Look under "Introduction to your Projector" section on page 10. 3-D support is listed there.

Hmmm.... Been wanting to pick up a projector to carry around with me to various outdoor events with friends. Is 2500 lumens bright enough for something like that?
I can't speak for this specific projector, but I've got a battery-powered portable one that only hits 500 lumens and it's worked perfectly well at night, when I'm most likely to be watching anything projected. This is also on a white bedsheet, because I haven't gotten myself a proper screen yet, so I presume it'd work even better with some real screen material.

Considering this is over four times that, I'm sure it'll work for anything from dusk and later.
