Exact same sensor and lens it sounds like. I guess you could argue the ability to shoot/export as RAW is useful for that but I thought I read somewhere the v1 is getting that too.

good luck flying this anywhere beyond your backyard. those glory days of flying above amazing views are over. might as well get an xbox series x and play flight simulator.

i will pass on the mini 2 and consider buying it only if compatible with the smart controller. and then i would like to buy the drone only w/o remote.

For those wanting to get this on a deal and for those who've hoarded Target & Apple GCs here, Apple Store has the Fly More bundle [apple.com] for sale. You can get this for $479 ($600 Apple GC - $120 Target GC) by getting 6 x $100 Apple GCs from Target. You get a $120 Target GC to shop online or at the Target store. Not the best way to get it but still the best way to get this Mini 2 at a bargain!

It's still $600+ out of pocket. The difference is you get gift cards as form of "rebate". Yes, better than nothing, but it's not $479 as you noted.
